The Presidency College, Motbung was established in 1973 and is affiliated to Manipur University, Canchipur. Started with modest infrastructure and sheer determination, the college has grown from strength to strength and has become one of the centres of learning in the state. Located at Motbung, a picturesque tribal village through which runs the National Highway 39. Presidency College is the only Govt. College within the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council which is largely populated by Meiteis and scheduled tribes like the Kukis, Nagas, and the Gorkhas. Since its inception, the college has introduced Degree Courses, both General and Honours in both Arts and Science streams. besides the courses mentioned above, the college also introduced Vocational Courses like Sericulture and Mushroom Cultivation from the session 1998-99 and 2013 under the U.G.C. Scheme. For the present, the college is trying its best to go beyond the conventional degree oriented academic boundaries in commensurate with globalization so as to meet the aspiration of the new generation of learners and to impart value-based quality education to students for their better future ... UNDER GRADUATE COURSES :
There are two streams of under graduate
courses namely Bachelor of Arts and
Bachelor of Science under the ordinance
of Manipur University Six-Semester.
There shall be a six semester
(three years) course of study leading to the
award of the Degree of Bachelor of Arts
(Honours) and Bachelor of Science
(Honours). Each semester shall consist of
90 (ninety)working days.

ELIGIBLITY FOR ADMISSION
Candidates seeking admission to the first semester of the Degree Course
should have passed the Higher Secondary/an equivalent examination recognized by
the Manipur University. The minimum P.C. of aggregate marks of the qualifying
Examination eligible for admission shall be decided by the College Admission
Committee from time to time.

ENCLOSURES TO BE SUBMITTED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM
1. Attested copies of the mark Sheet of H.S.L.C and HSE or Equivalent Exam Passed.
2. Provisional Certificates of the H.S.L.C. & H.S.E. or Equivalent Exam Passed.
3. Income Certificate of Parents/Guardian.
4. Character Certificate from the School/College last attended.
5. For Physically challenged candidates, a certificate from a doctor of the Civil
Hospital/Medical College must be submitted.
6. Two passport size photographs.
CURRICULUM OF DEGREE COURSES :
Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/B.Sc) Courses :
1. There shall be two degree courses of
study each comprising of 6 (Six)
Semesters leading to the Degree of
Bachelors of Arts and Bachelor of
Science. Offering of Honours Courses in
both streams in the 5th and 6th Semester
are compulsory.
2. A student for the B.A/B.Sc Degree shall
have to offer the following subjects.

Language/ Manipuri/Hindi/Thadou.
(ii) Three Elective Subjects.
(iii) Honours subject shall be one of the
Elective subjects offered in the previous
