THE PARISH OF ELLESMERE PORT AND HOOTON St Saviour and St Mary of the Angels | Our Lady Star of the Sea and St Bernard SUNDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2021 THIRTY THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY This Sunday we remember in prayer all those who have laid down their lives in War, especially the two World Wars of the last century, and the conflicts within living memory. We give thanks to God for the sacrifice men and women have made to defend and secure the freedoms we cherish, and we pray for all victims of war: civilians, children, and peoples displaced by conflict and violence. In acknowledging the sacrifice of those who died, let us also pray for the gift of peace, that one day war will be no more. Father Edmund
SVP Collection Thank you all to who gave so generously to the collection which took place at St Saviours and St Marys last weekend. £623.84 was given to support the important work of our SVP. Lil McDonald RIP Family and friends of Lil McDonald are gathering at the vigil Mass at Our Lady Star of the Sea on Saturday 20 November to remember her in prayer in a special way. Lil, like many people who died during the pandemic when it was at its height, was unable to have the funeral Mass that the family would have wanted. I was very happy to work with the family to make sure that Lil could be remembered in this way at a weekend Mass, knowing how faithful she has been to St Bernard’s over many years. Please say a prayer for the family. RCIA/Faith Sharing and Film Evening We continue our faith sharing/film evenings at St Mary of the Angels, this Monday November 15th. There is Adoration, Rosary and Evening prayer from 6pm and the film starts at 7pm. Please come along if you can, all welcome from across our two parishes.
