has published more than fifteen novels that all share the harsh, cold, loneliness of Icelandic nature
that reflects the people populating his novels. In 2006 The Ship became an international bestseller
and was translated into nine languages.

The stories often take place in the grey area between good and evil, full of suspense and adventure.
Although firmly set in the real world his stories also give a feeling of magic realism through their
connection to Icelandic sagas and folklore.

common. The stories often take place in the grey area between good and evil and are full of suspense
