The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Street Party!
The whole school joined together to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
There was delicious food provided by our in-house caterers Holroyd Howe, a cake baking competition, a
quiz on The Queen and also artwork displayed.
The Jubilee Quiz on The Queen had some challenging questions so a huge well done to Christian Cook,
who won the individual award and Forms 7LB and 10JM who won the joint award.
It was a fantastic event and one enjoyed by everyone!

The Queen’s Jubilee Cake Competition
The delicious cakes were judged by Head Chef Mark and CCF Cdr Geraldine Poulet-Bowden.
All of the cakes were praised by the judges and a special mention to Year 7 who submitted the most
entries.
Sadly, the cakes could not be tasted though ingredients and methods were discussed with some of the
chefs! Congratulations to the winners and all competitors will receive recognition and a certificate in
Friday’s Chapel. Some of the delicious entries can be seen below!

A huge congratulations to Ella Stephens who attended the Soccer Assist
Scholarship Trials in Bristol last week at Clifton College.
The standard at the trial was extremely high and Ella competed against
trialists a lot older than her.

Despite being the youngest, we are delighted to say that Ella was selected from the
hopefuls and are discussing next steps.
Congratulations Ella! We are extremely proud of you.

Students are following a Rites of Passage module starting
with birth and ending by looking at attitudes and religious/
secular beliefs surrounding death.
Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and
all were actively involved in the session. This certainly led
to a greater understanding of the topics studied. The
students were all fascinated by the topic of cryogenics and
whether people are still alive whilst frozen.
