BATTLE PITCH SESSION - ARENA STAGE
• The arena stage is designed to hold the best pitching startup sessions on the continent
assisting them to showcase their product/service in front of the investors.
• Two distinct pitching session were held:
• The Open Innovation Challenges pitches - organised for the Corporates to select a startup
to partner with.
• The Investors pitches - offering the best startups on the continent the opportunity to pitch in
front of more than 100+ investors (on-site & online).

RULES
• Diamond and Platinum sponsors will have the opportunity to launch their dedicated ‘Tour Challenges’ and
source the best startups on the continent in the leading tech cities of Africa.
• To help these cities develop, we are also holding a 'Tech Ecosystem Challenge', and asking the Tech Ecosystem
partners (incubators, accelerators, etc.) of each city to pitch.
• At each city-stage:
• For the Tour Challenges, winner(s) will be pre-selected.
• For the Tech Ecosystem Challenge, 1 winner will be selected.
• The final startups of the Tour Challenges will be selected in July at the end of the AfricArena Tour.

What is it?
• AfricArena Global Accelerator Impact is a programme created in collaboration with the South
African Tech Labs and other partners globally.
• The purpose is to support impact startups and showcase the exciting business
opportunities in emerging markets, which are also vital for implementing the agenda and
solving complex challenges.
• It brings impact-driven entrepreneurs from emerging markets to Cape Town to accelerate
their business, attract additional financing, and build long-lasting networks.

How does it work?
• 1 startup will be selected in every country of the tour
• We have designed an eight-day programme for the winners:
• Full access to AfricArena.
• Mentoring programme organised for all the selected participants, organised with our local partners.
• South African Tech Labs bootcamp programme which includes workshops aiming to build strong
business models to work with leaders from all around the world.
