MATHS DEPARTMENT INFORMATION
The Maths department have subscribed to MathsWatch covering Key Stage 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9);
GCSE 9-1 at both Foundation and Higher tiers (Years 10 and 11) and AS Level Maths (Year 12 or
high achieving Year 11 pupils). Videos, online assessments, feedback tools, independent learning,
printable worksheets are all included to help develop mathematical skills. The producers of the
resource are experienced teachers.
Maths teachers are setting MathsWatch tasks for their classes and the vast majority of pupils have
successfully logged in and are getting used to navigating the site; there is a wealth of Mathematics
available for everyone, and it is easily accessible. A user guide is attached for parents and pupils to
refer to but most pupils are of course working things out for themselves but it may be useful.
Pupils can change their password if they wish to although the main request this week has been to
reset passwords from pupils who have forgotten the password they chose last week! On Monday and
Tuesday MathsWatch was difficult to use simply because of the volume of users but improvements
have been made and the site is back to running smoothly.
Please do e-mail if we can be of any further help,
Mrs Thomas, Mr McLaren, Mr Cakmak, Mrs Freeman, Mr Harrison, Dr Macey and Ms Taylor
