Directed by Mrs. Katie DavisWheeler Central Great Things Are Happening Here! * We welcome 4 new staff members this year: Miss Elizabeth Glynn (K-12 Instrumental and Vocal Music), Mrs. Makayla Reiter (Daycare Teacher), Mrs. Katie Davis (Para), Ms. Megan Gotschall (Daycare Para). * Two teachers have assumed new duties this fall: Mrs. Shawna Sch- lenger moved from Daycare Teacher to Preschool Teacher, and Mrs. Ranotta Nordhues moved from Daycare Para to First Grade Teacher. * Fall sports have kicked off. Good luck to the cross country, volley- ball and football teams. * Seventh through twelfth graders enjoyed their day at the State Fair. * Our new school website is up and running, and updates are con- tinually being made. * Preschool numbers are stong, with 16 enrolled in either half-day or whole-day class. Preschool classes began on September 4th. * The summer maintenance crew was busy, completeing a number of big projects this year: moving all elementary classroom contents (with the exception of Miss Lovitt and Mrs. Reed, who moved last summer), completing work on one of the apartments in the teacher- age, fixing an on-going plumbing issue in the Old Gym, and compet- ing some structural work in the New Gym. This was in addition to all of their yearly summer projects. * One Act tryouts were held, the cast has been selected, and prac- tices have begun. * Seventh graders have been busy catching, pinning, and labeling insects for their collections. * Wheeler Central has again been awarded the ReVision Grant. Two pieces of equipment (an embroidery machine in the FCS room and a banner maker in the shop) will soon be used by students to complete new projects. * The Bronco marching band will soon take to the streets in prepara- tion for Harvest of Harmony. * A TeamMates chapter is being organized at Wheeler Central. It is in the planning and training stages now. * High School Rodeo season is wrapping up. Their final competition for the fall will be September 16th at North Platte. * FFA members been competing at Range Judging Contests.
