THE LAST LAUGH April 4, 2021 - Worship Service Guide 10 AM
Welcome to All Saints Church!
We are thankful you are here this morning! If you’re visiting with us, we hope that
you feel welcome. If you are attending in person this morning, please know that we
are continuing to honor our city’s mask mandate in place so we ask that those ve
years and older during the service keep their masks in place apart from those who
have physical limitations or during our time eating and drinking in communion.

All Saints Church’s worship includes a formal liturgy. Liturgy (literally meaning
“the work of the people”) is the structured way in which God’s people worship Him.
What that means is that at some points in the service we’ll take time to be quiet and
pray, at other times we’ll respond together with song or Scripture, and still, at other
times, we’ll take in the spoken Word of God.

Our liturgy is shaped by the same storyline of Scripture. We were created in the
image of God, to re ect His love. We have corrupted love by living for ourselves
instead of living for God and we deserve God’s judgment. God demonstrates his
gracious love for us by redeeming sinners through the death and resurrection of His
Son, Jesus. We anticipate our nal home and kingdom where God’s love will be fully
expressed and experienced. We give thanks to God who spared from the loveless
place of hell and given us the joyous place of eternal life with Him.

We ask that you participate in whatever manner comfortable for you. Sometimes
people may raise their hands in praise during worship, others might close their eyes,
others may appear more solemn. We would also encourage you to bring your own
natural speaking voice and expressive style to the mix as we recite Scripture, sing and
respond together. It’s a picture of the variety in which God created us.

If you are with us via webinar, should you have any di culties with the connection
or sound, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can improve the streaming
experience.

We are thankful to have you here with us. May the LORD bless you richly today in
worship together of the God of love.

And very early on the rst day of the week, when the sun had risen, they Eastertide
went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll
away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” And looking up, Pentecost
they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And
                                                                                                                       Ordinary Time
entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed
in a white robe, and they were alarmed. All Saints &

And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth,
who was cruci ed. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they
laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to
Galilee. ere you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out
and ed from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them,
and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

At this time, we typically leave the comfort of our seats to extend the peace of Christ with those around us.
Since we are on a virtual platform, take a moment to extend the peace to those within your midst. If you
are alone in worship this morning, know that the Lord has not forgotten you, sees you and is with you.
Feel free to shoot a sign of peace via chat to speci c people who are in virtual attendance with you.

                                                                                            Announcements

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well re ned.
7 And he will swallow up on this mountain

the covering that is cast over all peoples,
the veil that is spread over all nations.
     8     He will swallow up death forever;
and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
           for the Lord has spoken.
9 It will be said on that day,

“Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us.
              is is the Lord; we have waited for him;
let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”

And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd gathered about
          21

him, and he was beside the sea. 22 en came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and
seeing him, he fell at his feet 23 and implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the
point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.” 24 And he
     went with him.
And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him. 25 And there was a woman who had
had a discharge of blood for twelve years, 26 and who had su ered much under many physicians, and
had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. 27 She had heard the reports
about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. 28 For she said, “If I
touch even his garments, I will be made well.” 29 And immediately the ow of blood dried up, and
she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

30 And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in
the crowd and said, “Who touched my garments?” 31 And his disciples said to him, “You see the
crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ” 32 And he looked around to see
who had done it. 33 But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling
and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith
has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”
35 While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler’s house some who said, “Your daughter is

dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” 36 But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler
of the synagogue, “Do not fear, only believe.” 37 And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter
and James and John the brother of James. 38 ey came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue,
and Jesus saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. 39 And when he had entered, he said
to them, “Why are you making a commotion and weeping? e child is not dead but sleeping.”
40 And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the child’s father and mother and

those who were with him and went in where the child was. 41 Taking her by the hand he said to her,
“Talitha cumi,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” 42 And immediately the girl got up and
began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with
amazement. 43 And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her
     something to eat.

At this time, we take an opportunity to unite around the family table, the table of the Lord’s Supper. If
you profess faith in Christ as your only con dence and quali cation to join this celebration of salvation,
have been baptized and examined and approved by the leadership of a Gospel-preaching church to
participate, you are welcome to join in the celebration. In order to ensure a safe, sanitary environment,
we will be using pre-packaged communion wafers and juice in our meal together.

Please remain in your location and we will bring the elements to you. When someone comes to you, please
indicate how many cups you will be needing and we will hand you the elements on a plate. Please hold
onto the elements until we partake together, and dispose of the empty plates and cups on your way out at
     the end of the service.

     Prayer of Belief
Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit, but through
you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt on the

been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Amen.

Prayer for ose Overcome by Sin
Lord Jesus, grant that I may see in you the ful llment of all my need, and may turn from every false
satisfaction to feed on you, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so

     of my faith. Amen.

WHO IS ALL SAINTS CHURCH?
We are a people of God, sinners made saints by the gift of grace through Jesus
Christ’s perfect life, substituting death and conquering resurrection. Together as the
people of God, the Church, we walk according to His Holy Spirit through our
dependency upon the life-giving means of grace: His Word, His sacraments,
     fellowship and prayer.

     WHY ARE WE HERE?
To enjoy and proclaim the grace and glory of God in our everyday lives of worship in
order to display the love of Jesus and the hope of His gospel transformation to the
lives of individuals, families, the community of Green Bay and the world.

HOW WILL WE LIVE OUT THIS MISSION AND VISION?
By trusting in God to bring Gospel transformation to our own lives and the lives of
     our neighbor through:

                                GOSPEL-SHAPED WORSHIP

                           GRACE-DEPENDENT DISCIPLESHIP

A FAITHFUL PRESENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY

ank you for joining us today!
