PRAYER FOR THE NEW INCUMBENT
Bountiful God,
Give to this parish a faithful pastor
who will faithfully speak your word
and minister your sacraments;
an encourager who will equip our people for ministry
and enable us to fulfil our calling.
Give to those who will choose, wisdom,
discernment and patience
and to us give warm and generous hearts,
for Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.

Charity of the Month – January
                                     CBM/Fred Hollows Foundation
The Fred Hollows Foundation has a very clear goal: to put an end to avoidable blindness. When this day
comes, people in developing countries will get the same quality eye care the rest of the world takes for
granted.
CBM is an International Christian development organisation devoted to improving the lives of people with
disabilities in the poorest places on earth. Poverty and disability go hand in hand creating a cycle of
inequality, isolation and exclusion that leads to the most extreme forms of poverty.
CURRIMUNDI GARDENS EUCHARIST: Will be held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2.00pm in the Chapel.
The first service will be on the 16 February, 2.00pm.

BLUECARD HOLDERS: Reminder to update your Blue Cards when they are due to expire. For those of you
who serve in any capacity in the church a current Blue Card is required. New laws state ‘No Card, No Start’.
Please check the currency of your cards and please renew if required. Thank you.

Thought for the Day ……

A certain Viewpoint;
some USA citizens believe they are involved in a civil war, and have been for a long time. President Trump
has merely provided a voice and a power base, this under estimates the power of evil.

Frightening isn't it.

As we have watched the last few years groan towards an election some of us have wondered if such a thing
could happen here. Has it already happened?

There are some wonderful things being done by some wonderful people.
We take heart from them

Bless us all.

Fr Clarry

                                               Prayer of the Week

                                                  Father of all,
                                       who gave your only-begotten Son
to take upon himself the form of a servant
and to be obedient even to death on a cross:
give us the same mind that was in Christ Jesus,
                                          that, sharing in his humility,
                                   we may come to be with him in his glory;
where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughts at this time of sorrow with the

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE NOMINATORS: The Nominators are seeking suggestions from the
parishioners, for potential priests’ names to be put forward in consideration for the position of parish Rector.
There are many parishes at present without a priest. This reflects the current difficult situation which is
making the search for a suitable priest a challenging one. Your assistance with names is valuable input for
the Nominators.
The Parish Nominators would like to inform the Parishioners, that since there doesn’t appear a suitable
Priest for our Parish available at present in our Diocese, we have spread our search further afield into other
Dioceses. Continue to pray for us please. Thank you for your support

CALLING FOR ALL USED POSTAGE STAMPS:
The need for used postage stamps has not stopped. People used to leave stamps in a
box at the back of the church for collection however COVID-19 hit and for a while the
churches were closed. If you do physically attend worship at one of the Parish’s
centres please bring your used stamps. Alternatively, seal your used stamps in an
envelope to be dropped off into the locked greenbox adjacent to the front door of the Parish Centre for
collection. Your assistance to maintain the support of this worthy endeavour is most appreciated. Thank

CONTACTING THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR: Dear Parishioners, the best method to contact the parish office
and to communicate with me is via email. I do have a hearing loss which means that certain tones of speech
are more difficult than others to hear clearly over the phone. Rephrasing sentences, speaking clearly at a
normal pace rather than rapidly all helps, though the best method to reach me is via email,
caloundra@anglicanchurchsq.org.au. Thank you for your thoughtfulness & consideration, Rowena
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR: The office will open Mon-Fri 11am – 1pm for matters that need face to face
attention. The use of the collection box and locked green box adjacent to the front door of the Parish
Centre can be used for items to be dropped off or collected. Thank you for your assistance, Office
Administrator
