What is the time commitment?
Class defined roles will take place during their weekly scheduled class, with exception of a run-through, dress
rehearsal, and shows! Younger recreational classes will only participate in one show.
What will it cost including costumes?
There is no extra tuition cost for class roles, it will be built into the yearly program. There will be one
additional costume deposit corresponding with the dancers level for the year.
Do we have to pay for tickets?
Yes, tickets will be available in the summer and are similar to the yearly MDA Recital.
Do you have to audition?
If you are not interested in a specialty role you don’t have to audition, however we do encourage dancers to
take the chance, if interested..
Will everyone get a part?
YES! Every student at MDA will participate in the show.
Is the brunch/tea mandatory? If so for who? How much are tickets?
Yes & No. The brunch/tea is mandatory for the characters hosting and highly encouraged for students, family,
friends, neighbors, and welcoming all to participate. It is a wonderful kickoff to the Nutcracker Season.
Are we required to volunteer?
Although not required, volunteering greatly helps the studio staff and students. There are multiple categories
to volunteer in from the show, brunch, props construction and transportation, etc.
Is there a dress rehearsal or a run through?
Yes, there will be a dress rehearsal, one night before the show starting at after the work day similar to 2017.
Who is my main contact if I have questions?
Jen Carlson is always happy to answer and clarify any questions or concerns. Additionally, we have a Project
Manager Meghan, please see below.
Project Manager: Meghan Timm
Meghan will again be helping out with the production. Meghan is a former
MDA student and since graduating has been a part of multiple dance
