Our faith community also gathers at St. Philip the Apostle on Tuesday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass to say the Rosary. From the Oblates of the Virgin Mary: “What is Eucharistic Adoration?” That’s a question we often hear from those new to the faith or searching for ways to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Adoration is a way to be present with the Lord and focus on actively listening to His word through prayer. During Eucharistic Adoration, the faithful pray to Jesus Christ, who is present in the Eucharist. The Eucharist, also referred to as the Blessed Sacrament, is typically kept in a tabernacle at your parish church. While it is true that you can pray to God anywhere and that He is always within you, it is especially powerful to adore Jesus in the Eucharist. In the presence of the Eucharist, we pray to the power and sacrifice that it represents — the body of Jesus, who gave His life so that we may live. It is His body, blood, soul and divinity that is really, truly, and substantially present in the Eucharist. We adore and receive the Eucharist in communion at Mass, which is the most beautiful act of worship that we have as Catholics. We have Jesus truly present in all of the tabernacles around the world. We can continue to adore Him in the Eucharist after Mass in a quiet time of prayer and contemplation on Who we have just received . Being in the Scan the Code presence of the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ gives spiritual strength and nourishment in a uniquely powerful way.” or Click Here We hope you’ll join us, and spend some time with Jesus. to Donate to Our world and our Church need so many prayers today!

ADULT FORMATION PRAYER AND WORSHIP WE MUST invite Already experienced Alpha? If so, we need YOUR help! TO HAVE A CHURCH Jesus’ final command before ascending to heaven, is to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:19). It’s known as the Great Commission, not “the really good suggestion”. Why? Because Jesus entrusted his disciples with a partnership in the salvation of the world. The transmission of the Gospel message depends on US. Jesus is counting on us to reach a particular person or persons with the message of His love and redemption. But how do we go about it? JUST INVITE SOMEONE. Inviting someone to come to Mass might be a little too intimidating for someone who is unfamiliar with liturgy, or for someone who has fallen away from the Church. But inviting them to dinner? Or one Zoom session to simply check Alpha out? That’s easy. Non-threatening. At Alpha you can bring your friend, co-worker, colleague, hairstylist, daughter’s boyfriend, any family member or the UPS driver for a meal! You’ll be greeted by really friendly people and, if you’re in person, have a great (free) meal-or conversation if they join our online Alpha! As you know, they’ll watch a video on the very basics of the Christian faith, then have a chance to discuss it with a small group. And any and all questions and comments are allowed! Seriously. At Alpha, everyone gets a chance to voice their thoughts and be heard, without judgement. Alpha is a place to have a meaningful conversation, and to explore the biggest questions of faith and life. It’s a welcoming place to begin a journey that will change a life forever. We know personal invitations to participate in Alpha work best. Your word is better than anything an “ad” may share. So we ask you, WHO WILL YOU INVITE? Watch Alpha Videos on our website!

SACRED HEART SCHOOL LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SACRED HEART SCHOOL! 8th Grade has been hard at work learning about World War I in a cross-curricular unit between ELA and social studies. This week, the students had to work together to analyze quotes from All Quiet on the Western Front. Looking at the quotes, they had to determine whether the quote represents the theme of brotherhood, sacrifice, or loss of innocence. This is a great practice to get the students ready for analyzing quotes in high school! 7th grade students working on their STEAM projects. 1st grade shares all they have learned about polar bears! 1st grade experiments with gummy bears and a variety of liquids. There’s no business like snow business!
