REIKI WITH ROXIE
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also

Reiki practitioners will place their hands lightly over areas of the body.
Please remember to wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to lie on the floor by
bringing a yoga mat, blanket, bolster or pillow.

The day session will be held July 16 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please arrive 10 minutes early
to settle before class. A tip or donation of $10 for the practitioner will be greatly
appreciated. Please note, the day session does not have live music.

If you are not comfortable lying on the floor, please let us know when you are

5638 to reserve your spot as space will be limited, and due to the past popularity of this
class it will fill quickly.

                GEM’S HARMONY CAFE
                Friday, July 9, 2021 — 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
GEM’s Harmony Cafe is partnering with the Dare County Arts Council to
connect local teaching artists with our GEM (Gentle Expert Memorycare)
family to create art in various mediums, such as stained glass, wood, clay
                and paint.

Harmony Cafe is a place where any senior that would benefit from memory care may
practice that skill in a safe, supportive and engaging environment. Participants will also
be able to enjoy live entertainment with local musicians.

NOTE: This is not a drop-off program, and each participant should be accompanied by a
family member or community friend. There is no charge for Harmony Cafe, but please

12:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
One of our favorite games for your brain! The colorful tiles in Rummikub provide
visual and tactile stimulation. Sensory stimulation has long been associated with
keeping your mind sharp and healthy through normal age-related changes, and it can
also help slow cognitive changes. Plus, it is a blast to play. It is like Rummy with tiles.
The group playing this addictive game is friendly and welcoming to newbies.

For questions about any of the above activities, please contact
                                                                                                PAGE 4
