FROM THE PASTORS DESK
Good Sunday, By the time you read this you will have had your throats Blessed in honor of Saint Blaise
whose feast is on February 3. During this time of Covid the Church reminds the faithful a general Blessing
of throats can be done at Public Masses. To do individually the Church asks the person being blessed to
stand 6 feet from the Minister.
“Parishioners should be reminded that the efficacy of the blessing lies in the intention of the priest or
deacon, and not on the proximity of the priest or deacon to the recipient of the blessing.”
I assure you at this time of the pandemic, the Priests and Deacons of our Collaborative pray for everyone to
receive the Blessings of health.
Ash Wednesday February 17 has multiple options recommended by the Archdiocese during this time of the
Pandemic. As at Christmas some parishes will not be able to provided services. Here at the Light of
Christ both our Churches will have Ash Distribution. There will be one 9AM Mass upstairs at Holy Ghost
with Ash Distribution, after the Mass Clergy will be available till 10:30 on a walk-in basis at Holy Ghost
Church. Saint Bridget’s Church will have walk in basis from 11:30am-1pm. In the evening both
Churches of the Collaborative will have walk in Ashes from 6:30-7:30. WE ASK THAT YOU
EXERCISE SOCIAL DISTANCING. THE PRIEST WILL BE SANITIZING HIS HAND WITH
WIPES AFTER EACH IMPOSITION OF ASHES AND MASKS NEED TO BE WORN. THERE
WILL BE NO PRAYER SERVICE FOR THE WALK-IN IMPOSITION OF ASHES . PLEASE
PRAY A PRAYER BEFORE ENTERING THE CHURCH FOR A HOLY LENT. AND PLEASE EXIT
AFTER RECEIVING ASHES.
