Guest Seating
               (In the event of rain)
• Guest seating is available in Centennial Hall.
  This is “General Admission Seating” where
  seating placement is determined on a first
  come, first-served basis.
  * There will be no opportunity to reserve seats
  (inside or outside) for later guest arrivals.
• Centennial Hall doors will open at 12 noon.
• Viewing rooms are available in the Lakeshore
  Building for guests not able to be seated in
  Centennial Hall or who prefer to be indoors.

No alcohol, smoking or pets on
 campus! No coolers, please.
Where you need to be and when
• Candidates should begin arriving at 12:00pm on
  Saturday where they will go through a check-in
  process in Room L225 on the second floor of the
  Lakeshore Building near the elevator.
• While checking in, those earning Honors, PTK
  members, and members of the military will be
  given the proper honor medallion, stole or honor
  cords.
• Doors to room L225 will be locked during the
  ceremony if you would like to leave your personal
  items there.
• All belongings need to be picked up by 4:00pm.
Graduation Honors

• Because grades are still being entered into the
  system, we cannot determine your honor
  status today. You will be notified of any
  earned honors when you check-in on
  Saturday.
Cap and Gown Pick-up

• Cap and gown pick-up starts Monday May 14
  in the bookstore. Make sure to pick-up, try-on
  and iron-out the wrinkles prior to the
  ceremony.
Please note…
• Put your honor medallion on prior to pinning
  on your mortarboard.
• The medallion will not go over the
  mortarboard.
Please remember to wear some
type of clothing under your gown.
Check in
• While checking in, you will get a card to write
  your name on (Please don’t lose this).
• For difficult to pronounce names, we ask the
  students to spell the name out phonetically.
• You will also have a chance to whisper the
  correct pronunciation to Richard Opie when
  you hand your name card to him (Info on back
  of card).
Student Reception
• Light refreshments will be available for the
  students in room L222 from 12:30 – 1:30.
• Please note that this reception is for students
  only and not for family members/friends.
Line up
• Students will line up on the south end of the second floor. (Use the
  main staircase outside this room) Signs for your program will be
  posted on the walls on the second floor.
• You will line up by division and then by program. Programs will be
  in alphabetical order within the division. Candidates line up in
  alphabetical order by last name within their program.
• The first person alphabetically in each program group will receive
  an additional card noting their program name which they will hand
  to Richard before their name card. Students graduating from more
  than one program will get one card with each program listed. You
  can decide which group to sit with.
• You will be led to the ceremony area.
• Please make sure you start to line up at 1:30. Once lined up, staff
  members will be coming around to double check alphabetical order
  (by last name) with this being the final line up for marching in.
PICTURES
• Club and personal group pictures--Please take these
  before you are lined up at 1:30pm. The final march to
  the ceremony will begin promptly at 1:55pm.
• Family and friends may take pictures before, during,
  and after the ceremony.
• Empire Photography will be the professional
  photographer for the event.
• A proof photo will be emailed to your campus email
  account after the ceremony with no obligation to
  purchase.
• Guests can come to the Centennial Hall to take photos
  through the Student Lounge entrance. (if indoors)
The ceremony will be videotaped and
  uploaded to YouTube on or after
            May 22nd.
Services Available
• The LTC Bookstore will be open from 1:00 –
  4:00 p.m.
• SAFETY/SECURITY – Campus Police, Cleveland
  First Responders and the College Health Nurse
  will be on campus.
Student/Guest Parking – Lots 1, 3, 4
Parking Lots 6 and 7 are Drop Off or Handicap only

Marching In
 All enter from the walkway
   (if inside-use same door in the back of Centennial Hall)
 Staff marchers enter in pairs
 Deans & candidates enter single file
March down the center aisle of guests.
  Turn LEFT behind the candidates’ seats.
           (Staff will go single file here.)
Turn RIGHT up side of the candidates’ seats.
Ushers
• When you are marching into the seating area, we will
  be waiting at the beginning of each row to assist with
  filling all chairs.
• Please follow our instructions on when to begin a new
  row to ensure that all students have a chair.
• Please sit down immediately once you are in front of
  your chair.
• We need to have all of the chairs filled in each row
  before beginning the next row, so you probably will not
  be seated with only students from your program.
• Just follow our directions, please.
Marching In/Seating Walk-Through

• Walk through the processional with the first
  two rows of students.
Speaker Sequence Walk-Through

• We will now walk-through the order of the
  graduation script.
Ceremony
• Vice President of Student Success Polly Abts will
  ask all of you to stand later in the ceremony while
  she “presents” the candidates to Paul Carlsen,
  LTC President to confer the diplomas.
• The first row will stay standing, the remaining
  rows will sit back down.
• We will give you a signal for your entire row to
  stand up and walk toward the right side of the
  stage to wait in single file order.
• You will then proceed to the stage, one at a time,
  where you will give Richard your name card.
When your name is called, you will walk across
 the stage and shake the hand of John Lukas-
      Chair of LTC’s Board of Education &
             receive your diploma
…and then shake hands with President
  Carlsen, and Vice President Abts.
Pause for a Photo w/ Background
at the Bottom of the Exit Ramp….
•   Stop at bottom of the ramp
•   Hold your diploma in front of you
•   Move tassel out of your face
•   Smile
•   Walk back to your seat
Stage Walk-Through
• Walk through receiving your diploma, shaking
  hands and posing for photo with the first row
  of students.
After graduates receive their diplomas
After the last candidate has left the stage and arrived back at their
seat, President Carlsen will ask you to rise and will instruct you to
 move your tassel from the right to the left. At that time, you are
 officially graduates and alumni of Lakeshore Technical College.
Recessional March
Your recessional march will be led by Don Geiger and
Beth Jonas. You will march down the center aisle in
pairs and be led back down the walkway into the
Lakeshore Building (if outside) or into the Student
Services atrium (if inside).
Recessional Walk Through
• We will now have first two rows of candidates
  practice the recessional.
Post-Commencement Reception
• You, your family and friends are invited to the
  Post-Commencement Reception in the LTC
  Cafeteria and Fireside Area following the
  ceremony.
• LTC will provide cookies, refreshments, snacks
  and musical entertainment.
Photo Backdrop
• Upstairs of the Lakeshore Building in the
  Fireside area will be a LTC photo backdrop for
  personal/family photos. The LTC campus
  grounds are also a beautiful place to take
  pictures as well.
Diploma
• Verify and confirm your contact information on
  MyLTC, including:
  – Name
  – Mailing address
  – Home and cell phone number
  – Non-LTC email address
  – Student account balance
   If incorrect, contact Registration by June 16th.
• You will not receive your diploma on Saturday.
  They will be mailed by June 29th for May grads
  and October 5th for August grads.
Flowers

 PTK will be selling roses for $3
before the graduation ceremony.
 Family members can purchase
    these for the graduates.
