Superstar Cricket Academy
            http://nzc.nz/community/nzc-programmes/superstar-cricket-academy

The Superstar Cricket Academy is a junior development programme that
teaches the fundamentals of batting, bowling and fielding within an
exciting and competitive environment. Designed for children aged 5-10
years (boys and girls), it is the first step on a pathway that can lead to a
lifelong involvement in cricket

The programme focuses on teaching children the essential skills of the
game through a series of activities, drills and modified games in
preparation for their successful introduction to Superstar Cricket, a
modified format of the game.

The aim of the Superstar Cricket Academy is to get children and parents
involved in our sport and to build a new generation of cricketers by
helping children discover, explore, and learn to love the game. Cricket is
one of New Zealand’s most popular summer sports and by taking part in
the Superstar Cricket Academy helps our youngest participants join in on
the fun of cricket. Each child who participates in the paid programme will
receive a Superstar Cricket Academy pack containing a bat, ball, cap,
backpack and a drink bottle.

Superstarter Skills

Is an inclusive programme of skills-based fun for children of all abilities,
across all primary school levels (Years 1 – 8). It’s an easy-to-understand
set-up-and-play method for involving children in a range of fundamental
development skills – such as throwing, catching and striking a ball.

The Superstarter Skills programme can be used to support Cricket Smart, a
set of teaching and learning resources aligned to the New Zealand
Curriculum and includes key achievement objectives, values and key
understandings.

Teachers don’t need to be cricket experts - little knowledge of the game is
required to organise and run the programme.

Cricket Smart
Cricket Smart is an educational programme for primary and intermediate
schools. Register your school with the Cricket Smart education
programme and you’ll receive exclusive access to the lesson plans, which
are aligned with the New Zealand Curriculum. The resource is designed to
support teachers to raise awareness of the sport, using practical and
engaging learning opportunities

Volunteer
All the junior programmes require parent/caregiver support.
A development coach can only do so much with large numbers of kids in a
short period of time they have them. Step up, help out and feel the thrill of
making a difference.

Become a coach
Coaching cricket is a rewarding way to get involved with and support your
child's sport. New Zealand Cricket offers a variety of coaching courses and
resources, whether you're a cricket beginner or an experienced coach
looking to develop your skills. Learn more about coaching opportunities
near you, or get in touch with NZC Coaching Programme for more
information.

Become an umpire
We’re always on the lookout for umpires. See the action close up, support the
kids with direction, advice and encouragement making it a positive experience
for everyone.

Get involved with scoring
Becoming a scorer is an ideal way of getting involved in your child's
Cricket, and scoring is now easier than ever! Check out this handy guide
provided by the New Zealand Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association
for how to get started as a paper scorer.
