Welcome to Mercury Bay, a place in the Coromandel with a rich and strong
boating history. In 1769 Captain James Cook sailed The Endeavour into the
waters here and more than 200 years later our Mercury Bay Boating Club
challenged for the America's Cup in 1988, led by merchant banker and Great
Mercury Island resident Sir Michael Fay.
Mercury Bay continues to be a popular destination for sailing and big game
fishing but it's also becoming more attractive to an increasing number of
national and international visitors. That's thanks to our fast-growing and dy-
namic IT firms, engineering and eco-innovation businesses who are taking
advantage of its proximity to major cities, value for money rent and unsur-

About Whitianga & Important Numbers
Welcome to Whitianga! This thriving coastal town with a deepwater harbour, is the main settlement of Mercury Bay.
The town has been continuously occupied for more than a thousand years since the explorer Kupe’s tribe settled here after his visit
in about 950 A.D. Now home to 4,000 permanent residents Mercury Bay is a small piece of paradise, offering a wide range of tourist
attractions, fine restaurants and cafes, accommodation and retail opportunities. We look forward to welcoming you to our town.

Floating berths sizes are 10mtr, 12mtr, 14mtr, 16mtr, 18mtr.
Your overall length of vessel must fit within these lengths when berthed.
Power is by 16amp | 230volt supply but your vessel must have a current
New Zealand Electrical Warrant Of Fitness to plug into shore supply.
Power is included in your berth fee.
Whitianga Marina Water is potable and free. Taps are available within meters of your berth.
Services Diesel Fuel is avaliable 24 hours at our fuel berth. self-service by Visa, Mas-
ter Card or EFTPOS.
Sewage Pump Out facility is avaliable at the fuel berth.
Toilets and Showers available with security card access.
Coin operated laundry services are avaliable. $2.00 wash, $2.00 dry.
