Edmonton Eskimos 2019
Anthem Signers / Interpreters
At Commonwealth Stadium
This past season of the Edmonton Eskimos Season 2019, these Deaf volunteers were happy to
sign the Canadian National Anthem at all home games here in Edmonton, along with support
from volunteer interpreters. It was great public awareness for the Edmonton Eskimo fans to see
signers using our beautiful ASL. I again thank all the signers and interpreters for their
contributions this year. Dale MacMillan is our photographer for credit.
National Anthem Signers:
Gwendolyn Lathe, Christine Spink-Mitchell, Crystal Wolfe, Brenda Hillcox, Dena Ruiter-
Koopmans and Jamie McGilvery
Interpreters:
Helen McLeod, Alicia Ponciano, Laura Patterson, Megan Richelhoff and Diane DeAndrade.
This year, National Anthem Signers were selected based on criteria including: their participation
in ASL workshops and trainings, and their ongoing willingness to volunteer and help with ACSD
events.
For the standardized National Anthem video, signed by Angela Stratiy, check into the ACSD
website and please feel free to share with friends.
Lastly, I would like to thank Edmonton Eskimos for having our signers and interpreters to perform
O’Canada in ASL.
Thank you all again, we look forward to continuing this program in the season 2020.
See you next year,
Sandra Reid
