Reaching The Heart of Your Child – Ginger Hubbard
Based on Ginger’s best-selling book, Don’t Make Me Count to Three! There is far more to
parenting than getting children to “act” right. We have to get them to “think” right and to be
motivated out of a love of virtue rather than a fear of punishment. Ginger equips parents to
reach past the outward behavior of their children and address the issues of the heart. Move
beyond the frustrations of not knowing how to handle issues of disobedience and into a
confident approach to raising your children.

SESSION TWO
Friday 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm

Homeschooling: Discovering How and Why it Works – Dr. Jay Wile (Berean Builders)
Dr. Wile became involved in the homeschooling movement because of the excellent
homeschool graduates he encountered while he was on the faculty at Ball State University.
Over the years, he has followed the academic and professional literature to see how others
have evaluated homeschooled students, and the results are clear: homeschooling works very
well. On average, homeschooled students are academically superior to their peers, they are
more likely to be involved in their community than their peers, and they are more likely to be
enjoying life than their peers. They also have some very encouraging things to say when they
are asked to evaluate homeschooling. In this talk, Dr. Wile reviews some of the studies that
demonstrate these facts, and he also speculates on why homeschooling works so well. In
addition, he shares some words of encouragement and advice from homeschool graduates.
In the Trenches: Multi-Grade, Multi-Age, Multi-Learning Styles - Multi-Vitamins? All Together
without Mom Losing her Mind! – Tomara Reeves (BiblioPlan)
Are you longing to find ways in your day to bring all your children together around the table?
Do you need refreshing tips that show you how to combine subjects in a way that meets the
needs of all your children? Are you weary of juggling different history time periods for the
different grade levels or tackling the extra work your curriculum requires you to do just to teach
a lesson? Spend some time with Tomara, from BiblioPlan, as she shares numerous practical
helps for teaching across multi‐age levels drawing from both a classical style and a Charlotte
Mason approach.
To Test or Not To Test – Peggy Alier (BJU Press Homeschool/HomeWorks by Precept)
When should you start to grade assignments and projects? Is a report card necessary? Should
my kids use their books and notes to take tests? How do I decide what grade to give? What
other assessments can I use? Let's discuss these and other questions you may have about tests
and grading.
Make It & Take It Homemade Floam & Top 10 Fidget Do’s and Don’ts – Kris Dickinson
(TheraPlay Spot)
Floam is a play-doh alternative that is squishy and gooey, yet moldable and not sticky. Kids--and
parents--find the texture irresistible for twisting, squeezing, pressing, and rolling. The hands-on
process of making floam can be worked into math lessons, and the final product can be used as
a quiet fidget for your child while you're teaching those history lessons. Prior registration for
this workshop is required.
Raising our Boys to be True Gentlemen and Being an Example for our Daughters – Monica
Irvine (Etiquette Factory)
Imagine what it will feels like, as you watch your son, even while they are young, be an example
to those around him of what a true gentleman looks like, acts like and is. His focus is on others.
He notices without effort when someone near him is in need, and then quickly acts. He guards
his tongue knowing that his words have impact and his desire is to only have impact for good.
He is kind to his family and understands that his example to his family is his duty as a son of
God. He is a leader among his peers and although his standards are high, those in his presence
do not feel judged by him, but accepted and valued. His goals are lofty, however he looks
forward with anticipation to be a righteous husband and father one day. He is a true
gentleman.

Parents, this Master Class will help you understand how to create the example your son needs to
become this gentleman. You don’t want to miss this. He needs you.

be the topic of discussion. Audience participation is welcome.
A Bible-based Curriculum Makes Cents – Ernest Strubhar (Rod & Staff)

manipulating—to address your child’s heart. After all, as Matthew 12:34 tells us, “the mouth
speaks what the heart is full of.”
How Are Imperfect & Flawed Parents Supposed to Raise Valiant Children – Monica Irving
(Etiquette Factory)
Parents, we are imperfect. We are flawed. We don’t always do or say the right thing. We
don’t always react to our children like we should. We don’t always make good parenting
decisions. So how is this supposed to work? How are our children going to be successful,
happy and productive if the people teaching them and raising them often don’t know what to
do or how to do it? If you worry that you aren’t enough or that you’ve already made so many
mistakes that you’re not sure it’s not too late, then come and listen to motivational speaker

in your home but more importantly we will cover the 5 step process you need to help you

and bolts” to impact public policy, engage with lawmakers, and apply Biblical principles to
governing. This will be a highly interactive workshop, you will not want to miss it.

SESSION FIVE
Saturday 11:00 am – 11:45 am
How Are Homeschool Graduates Doing? – Dr. Jay Wile (Berean Builders)
Dr. Wile became involved in homeschooling because while he was teaching at the university
level, his best students were homeschool graduates. Since then, he has expected
homeschoolers to become the true leaders of their generation. To investigate whether or not
his expectation is coming true, Dr. Wile tracked down several homeschooled students who are
now adults and learned what they are doing. In this talk, Dr. Wile tells you what he learned.
You will be amazed at what these young adults are doing and how they have already impacted
the world. He also shares the results of a large study that has been done on homeschool
graduates. If you are wondering whether or not homeschool graduates can make a difference
in the world, you should definitely listen to this talk!

Taking Care of Mom: How to Avoid Burnout – Dara Halydier (Abiding Truth Ministry)
“When Mama ain’t happy, nobody’s happy.” So how can you keep Mommy happy? By making
sure that her needs are met! What are those needs and how can she take the time to meet
those needs without feeling guilty or leaving something else undone? Dara will give helpful
ideas to meeting the needs of Mom so that she is filled up and able to meet the needs of her
family.

Understanding the Temperaments – Catherine Zoller (Rhyme & Reason Ministries)
Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it (Prov.
22:6) has often been misunderstood as assuring parents their prodigals will return to the Lord.
However, the verse is more properly translated “train according to their bent” or “in keeping
with their temperament.” Explore how understanding the four basic temperaments and their
bents can help you better parent your children and strengthen your marriage.
Make It & Take It Lesson Activities – Peggy Alier (BJU Press Homeschool/HomeWorks by
Precept)
Hands-on activities, projects, and experiments help children better understand and apply

children. Prior registration for this workshop is required.

Saturday 1:00 pm – 1:45 pm
How To Parent Without Provoking Children To Anger – Ginger Hubbard
Does your child have a comeback for everything you tell him to do or always try and get the last
word, even if it’s mumbled under his breath? Does he become mad and lose control when you
discipline him rather than repenting? Or does he seem indifferent, giving the impression that
discipline doesn’t faze him in the least? Through biblical insights and powerful drama, learn
how to avoid the snares of parent-provoked anger and raise emotionally healthy children.

their students. Homeschool high school? YES, you can!

facts will bolster the resolve of homeschooling parents while equipping them to counter
arguments from their detractors. Based on the data and his own personal experiences with
