Peter and Jenny De Luca infused Casalinga with magic and love as they worked together to design and
build their beautiful rustic restaurant. While the menu is deeply rooted in the Italian countryside,
Casalinga contains many references to more local history, with its hardwood beams and stained-glass
windows reclaimed from demolished houses on the Randfontein Mining Estate. In keeping with the
narrative of the area, they struck a rich seam themselves, unearthing a desire on the part of Johannesburg
residents to come together and celebrate life, love and linguini.
The elegant yet relaxed ambience of Casalinga is reflected in the rich, eclectic furnishings which – just
like the menus – reflect the personal tastes of the owners, and their passion for food and family time.
Two very Italian priorities in life, perfectly fused at Casalinga. Grace and style make for a place where
people can unwind, be themselves, and enjoy a wonderful meal in the very best company.
Just off Beyers Naudé Drive in Muldersdrift, Johannesburg, Casalinga allows city dwellers to easily
escape from the malls and traffic jams and take sanctuary in the countryside, whether for an intimate
dinner for two or a business lunch, a family birthday or a product launch.

Through the years, we’ve received many awards and accolades, including ‘Best Sunday Lunch’ and ‘Most
Romantic Restaurant’. Owner and founder Jenny De Luca explain’s the philosophy behind this success
in her own words: "Casalinga is simple; we try and make it as intimate as possible and an extension of our
home". We strive to create the finest contemporary Italian cuisine using only fresh, natural ingredients,
free of preservatives and artificial substances. Our vegetables and herbs are organically grown on our
beautiful farm to ensure the highest quality.
The Casalinga dining experience is about sharing life’s important moments – large and small – with the
people we love, over meals that won’t cost the earth.

THE RESTAURANT
There are 7 venues within Casalinga that can accommodate an event from 15 Adults to 200 Adults.
THE PIAZZA
This area can accommodate a minimum of 80 Adults and a maximum of 100 Adults.
Wednesday to Friday a venue hire of R2000.00 will be applicable and Saturdays R4 000.00 with a minimum
requirement of 80 Adults to attending the function.
An R6 000.00 venue hire applies for the exclusive use of the piazza on a Sunday and a minimum of 80
Adults are required to attend the function.

THE MAIN DINING ROOM AND PIAZZA
This area can accommodate between 120 Adults and 180 Adults
Wednesday to Friday a venue hire of R8 000.00 will be applicable and Saturday R10 000.00
For the exclusive use of the Main Dining Room and Piazza area on a Sunday, a minimum of 140 Adults are
required to attend the function and a R12 000.00 venue hire will apply.

MAIN DINING ROOM
This area can accommodate a minimum of 60 Adults and a maximum 72 Adults A venue hire of R2 000.00
Wednesday – Friday and a R6 000.00 venue hire will be applicable for a Saturday and Sunday.

SMALL DINING ROOM
This area can accommodate between a minimum of 20 Adults and 50 Adults maximum.
There is NO venue hire applicable for this venue except for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays where a
R4 000.00 venue hire will be charge However from November through to April each year R4000.00 venue
hire will apply for this room on a daily basis.

LA GRANDE TENDA
The Nomadic tent area can accommodate between 80 Adults and 120 Adults maximum. A venue hire of
R8 000.00 does apply.

THE WINE CELLAR
This area can accommodate between 16 Adults and maximum of 22 Adults
The Wine cellar is underground and is ideal for dinner in the warmer months. A R2 000.00 venue hire is
applicable.

CASA NEL GIARDINO
A beautiful room that leads into a stunning garden seating a minimum of 60 Adults and a maximum of 100
Adults. A venue hire of R7 000.00 applies

WHY VENUE HIRE
The venue hire includes full standard set up of tables, chairs, white linen, crockery, silverware and
glassware.
Viewing prior to your function is advisable.
Cut off time for the use of the dining rooms are 15h30 for lunch.

Cut off time for the use of the dining rooms for dinner / dance music is 00h00 with departure at 00h30.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES OFFERED

Music – We have an in-house DJ at a cost of R6 500.00 - This is the ONLY DJ that is allowed at Casalinga.

Dance Floor – will be provided in the Piazza area only at a cost of R2 500.00

Draping – Can be arranged for in the Piazza area only at a cost of R2 500.00

Chapel – Rustic Tuscan chapel with candles, fresh flowers and petals can accommodate 100 Adults at a
cost of R3 500.00.

Pine Forest Weddings – R8000.00 venue hire FOR 2 HOURS ONLY. Please also note that only the
following suppliers are allowed to do the set up for your forest Chapel - Oh So Pretty Kenndra -072 211

Fairy lights – Only in the back and ceiling of the Piazza area at a cost of R1 500.00

MENU PRICING
Our pricing structures range from R360.00 – R440.00pp. (Buffet menu for a minimum of fifty adults (50)
only). We also offer tailor made menus to suite your specific needs and budget depending on the time of
the year.

BAR REQUIREMENTS
Minimum bar requirement is as follows – Pre drinks, wine, beer and cold drinks per table on a main
account. Cash bar for spirits and shooters per table can be arranged.
We have an extensive wine list for you to choose from, ranging from R150.00 upwards.
NO FULL CASH BARS ARE ALLOWED.

WEDDING CEREMONY TIMES ONLY
Morning Weddings 10h30 – 15h30
Evening Weddings 16h30 – 00h00: during the winter months May to August
Evening Weddings 17h00 – 00h00: during summer months September to April

DEPOSITS, PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATION POLICY.
Deposits from R5 000.00 – R20 000.00 is required to secure the booking. Dependant on the number of
people attending your special event.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NON – REFUNDABLE ON CANCELLATION
You are requested to settle the balance of your account together with a ten percent (10%) service charge on
food and beverages, no later than ten (10) days prior to your event either by -Cash, Electronic Transfer or
Cheque. Should there be an outstanding balance on the day this would have to be settled prior to
departure. No accounts will be permitted.

FINAL NUMBERS

Your final confirmed numbers needs to be advised no later than 48 hours prior to your event for
preparation and billing purposes. CONFIRMED NUMBERS WILL BE CHARGED FOR.
