To all parents of children attending KCPC VBS,
Greetings in the name of the Lord! KCPC VBS is right around the corner. We are excited to
praise God and teach of His love to our children this summer. This year’s VBS will be held
from June 27 (Monday) through July 1 (Friday), and the theme is “Submerged: Finding Truth
below the Surface.”
Just as an exciting and unexpected adventure awaits when you dive deep in the ocean with a
submarine, as kids submerge themselves in God's Word they will discover that Jesus saw
people differently. Jesus didn’t see people for what was on the outside. Instead, he saw people
for who they were on the inside … deep down. Kids will be challenged to see both themselves
and others as Jesus sees them, and realize that everyone needs a Savior—even those who look
like they have it all together. They will discover that a relationship with Jesus Christ changes
everything!
KCPC holds VBS for five different age groups: Nursery, Preschool, Kindergarten-1st grade, 2nd-
3rd grade, and 4th-6th grade. Each VBS is run separately, but all children learn the same Bible
stories and themes each day, as seen below:
DAY 1 Jesus Saw Zacchaeus. Jesus Knows Who I Really Am.
Most people did not like tax collectors because of their bad reputation. Yet
Jesus saw Zacchaeus as a man who was lost and needed to be restored, and
he showed him love by staying with him. So Zacchaeus was able to turn
from his greed and respond with a heart of great generosity! (Luke 19:1-10)
DAY 2 Jesus Saw the Woman at the Well. Jesus Knows My Worth.
Being both a woman and a Samaritan, most Jewish men would not even
think about talking to the woman at the well. Yet Jesus saw a woman who
did not see her own worth, and he showed her love by speaking with her
and sharing the good news of salvation. So the woman went on to share
the good news with many others! (John 4:1-42)

DAY 3 Jesus Saw Nicodemus. Jesus Knows I Need a Savior.
Nicodemus was a Pharisee, a group of Jewish leaders who knew and
followed all of the Jewish laws faithfully. Yet when he came to see Jesus,
Jesus saw him as a man in need of a Savior, and told him that he had to be
born again to enter the Kingdom of God. So Nicodemus was shown that
only those who believe in the Son of Man will have eternal life! (John 3:1-
21; 19:38-42)
DAY 4 Jesus Saw a Blind Man. Jesus Knows My Purpose.
Back in the day, some people used to think being blind was a result of sin.
Yet when Jesus saw the blind man, he proclaimed that it was not because of
sin, but so that God's work can be displayed, and then made him able to
see! So the former blind man went on to share as often as possible what
Jesus had done for him. (John 9)
DAY 5 Jesus Saw the Children. Jesus Loves and Accepts Me.
The disciples did not think children should be brought to Jesus, yet Jesus
disagreed and said the kingdom of God belongs to those who are like
children! He showed them love by calling them to him, and taking them in
his arms. So instead of being sent away, the children were able to receive
blessing from Jesus! (Mark 10:13-16)
This information booklet contains important information pertaining to all VBS – Nursery
through 6th grade – including detailed schedules and check-in/pick-up information. Please read
this guide thoroughly.
Though we have not met you in person, we love you with the love of Jesus and welcome you
to VBS 2016.

Check-in & Pick-up Info by VBS Department
Please read this carefully, especially for FIRST DAY check-in locations and instructions.
This will help us avoid any confusion on Day 1 of VBS. Students are invited to begin checking in at
9:20 am each morning, and must be picked up at 12:30 pm.
Please have your children dress in comfortable clothes and sneakers each day.
Department Location Guidelines
Rooms 2212, Check-in desk is on the 2nd floor, all the way inside the
Nursery 2213, 2215, Promiseland North Wing. There you can confirm your child’s class
and 2217 assignments. Nursery VBS begins on Tuesday, June 28th.
Hope Chapel Hope Chapel is on the 2nd floor, inside the Promiseland North
Preschool (Room 2209- Wing. Class assignments will be posted in front of Hope Chapel.

Kindergarten Grace Chapel
Grace Chapel is at the top of the stairs from the main lobby. Class
assignments will be posted in front of Grace Chapel. Please drop
~1st grade (Room 2103) off and pick up your children at their classroom.
The Well is on the 2nd floor between the North and the South
The Well Wing. On the 1st day of VBS, children will check in at the Well.
2rd~3rd grade
(Room 2144) Starting from Tue-Fri, children will go directly to their small
group classrooms. Pick-up is at the Well from Mon-Fri.
CCPC Chapel is the large worship room on the 2nd floor, on the
LEFT side of church, as soon as you turn into the KCPC campus.
Children will check-in in front of the CCPC Chapel and will be

4th~6th grade
(Room 2301) Parents will decide whether they want to pick up their students
from within the chapel or at a designated area outside of the
chapel, and let their child’s small group leader know on the first
day.

Page 6 of 19Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures
Due to a high volume of traffic during drop off and pick up times, you must park your car
before escorting your child into the building. When walking to the building, please follow
the instructions of the traffic controllers and make sure to use the pedestrian crossing
areas. If your child is old enough to check-in himself in, then you may drop off and pick up
your child in the designated Kiss & Ride area around the side of the building.
Short Term Fundraiser Lunch
JG Youth Short Term Missions Team to Peru is going to have a fundraiser lunch during VBS
week. You will have the opportunity to purchase lunch on your way home. Lunch will be sold
on Tuesday (6/28) and Wednesday (6/29) at 12:30 pm near the CCPC Chapel entrance. The
Fundraiser Lunch menu is as follows: Chick-fil-A sandwich, pizza and drinks. Please stop by
and show your support in their mission work.

A healthy church is one where each member grows in their knowledge and application of
God’s Word. As we live in a time when the world completely denies that God’s Word is
absolute truth, it is all the more important to equip ourselves with a biblical worldview and
standards of living. We invite all parents to dig deeper into God’s Word during your child’s
VBS week by attending the “Gospel of John” seminar for parents.

1. 4-6th grade students will check-in in front of the CCPC Chapel and then go straight to
their small group areas.
2. Small groups will meet in CCPC classrooms as well as in CCPC Chapel. Students may
arrive around 9:20, and small groups will start promptly at 9:30.
3. After small group time, students will head to the CCPC Chapel for worship. After
worship, they will head off for additional small group time as well as group activities
and games.
4. The closing rally at the end of the day will be held in CCPC Chapel and then students will
be dismissed from there. Parents will decide whether they want to pick up their
students from within the chapel or at a designated area outside of the chapel, and let
their child’s small group leader know on the first day.
5. Parents are to make sure that students bring Bibles to VBS every day.
6. On Tuesday there will be an outdoor activity called “Water Walk” for which students
will need to wear comfortable clothes and footwear that are good for extended walking
(shoes or sneakers preferred).
7. On Thursday we will be playing water related games outdoors where students may get
wet, please wear clothes that can get wet.
8. Students will receive a small snack each day but no meals, so please make sure they eat
a hearty breakfast before VBS so they do not get too hungry.

Parents, please pray for us throughout the week!
1. Pray that 632 kids attending VBS will allow God to search them and know their hearts
so that He may lead them in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)
2. Ask God to help kids see below the surface as Jesus does and to realize that Jesus came
to seek and save the lost. (Luke 19:10)
3. Pray for good weather and a shield of protection around VBS. Let no root of bitterness
spring up to cause trouble.(Hebrews 12:15)
4. Pray for the speakers and teachers to give clear and effective messages to the children,
that all who hear God’s Word would be blessed.
