World class exhibits providing unique interactive experiences engaging the whole body and mind.
- Forty-feet tall sitting down, EDDIE® is the world’s largest child! Climb his vertebrae to his brain, crawl through his heart,
bounce inside his stomach or slide out his intestines. There is nothing like him anywhere else in the world!
(Arriving early summer 2017) - Climb into the cockpit of a real 747 and discover how these iron birds are designed,
manufactured and tested. You just might find yourself piloting your very own flight simulator or building your own plane for testing.
- Take on the role of a pet owner, veterinarian or groomer in this exhibit emphasizing responsible pet care, from
choosing a pet to the care, feeding and training of animals.
- Children can pretend their future while learning today. Explore a real
firetruck in the Dalmatian Station. Set to work harvesting in the Busy Bee Farm. Serve up
food in the diner or visit the local grocery store.
- Its time to crank up your ingenuity and imagination in the workshop for
tinkers, inventors and artists alike. With several different spaces in this large gallery, children
and families find something different to create, construct or innovate around every corner.
- Just for children three and younger, this gallery encourages activities in a
unique outdoors setting “from the mountains to the sea” theme. Don’t miss the S.S. Shrimpy
and giant tree house!
Seasonal Exhibits and more - Every season offers new fun at EdVenture.

Arrival and Departure
Buses should arrive at the front of EdVenture and drop-off inside the horseshoe. Upon arrival, students
should remain on the bus while the group leader checks in at the front desk and until the children are
greeted by an EdVenture staff member. After students are unloaded, buses will be directed to the bus
parking area. Buses may then return to the front of the museum at the time of departure.
Please be reminded that arriving late to your designated program time may result in a shortened or
canceled program to be determined by the program educator. We try to accommodate all school groups,
but due to limited transition times, we cannot guarantee a program if your group arrives late. Refunds or
discounts will not be given to groups arriving late.
Lunches
EdVenture is BIG fun and students work up BIG appetites. If you choose to eat lunch while visiting the museum, there are three options. One,
you may purchase your group's lunches from EdVenture (see edventure.org for menu options), and a complimentary private room will be
provided. Two, you may bring your own lunch and rent a private room for your group to eat in (subject to availability). A cart will be made
available upon arrival to place your lunches. Three, your group can choose to picnic out on Coble Plaza, just outside the museum or in your
group's transportation. Please note, EdVenture will not allow outside food in to the building without a reserved space. All group meals and
reserved eating spaces must be booked two weeks prior to arrival.
Accessibility
For guests requiring special accommodations, EdVenture provides barrier-free exhibits and wheelchair accessible elevators and restrooms.
Please inform us at the time of booking of any special requirements or accommodations that you may need.
Supervision
Adult supervision is needed to monitor and maintain good behavior and to help facilitate EdVenture’s hands-on learning experiences. We
request a 7-1 student to chaperone ratio, and one free chaperone admission is provided per seven students. Chaperone interaction with the
students and exhibit components will increase the group’s engagement level. Students must remain with their chaperone at all times. Please
leave all backpacks and jackets on the bus. Be advised, no gum, food or drinks are permitted on the exhibit floor or in the classrooms.

Could your group or student organization use some time to bond? Improve communication? Resolve
differences? Or just get to know each other better? Groups are like a muscle, they must be challenged in order to strength-

School FUNdraising Nights W
There is a new opportunity to bring your school's families to EdVenture at
a discounted rate. On the second Tuesday evening of each month, three
schools will be provided the chance to be our special guest. There is also
the chance for your school to highlight a special performance or display of
work by your students.
What makes this extra special is that the night will serve as a fundraiser for
your school. Visitors will pay only $3 (per guest over two years old) when
they identify your school. Then, two of those dollars will be returned to your
school in the way of a check to be sent to the school within two weeks of
the event.
These select nights are a great way for your school to make some money
and for your families to have a lot of educational fun!!! Doors will open
from 5 until 8 p.m. to allow your student's families plenty of time to play
and learn.
To schedule your special Family Night event, please contact the director of
education programs and partnerships at 803-331-3713. Each school that
books will receive a free field study for a class of students (good for up to
30 students and four chaperones). There's a limited number of schools that
can take advantage of this opportunity.
