Pre-School Opportunities
Teeny Boppers
This semi-structured class introduces wee-ones through pre-school
age, 2 - under 3 years, to basic gymnastics, gross motor skills, and
socialization activities in a fun, safe environment. Active circle-time
songs, games, ball and parachute play are a few of the fun activities
children will enjoy. The program is designed as a parent/tot class
that requires direct participation with your child. Classes held in Rec
Center Gym. Register for class and upon completion, receive 5 free

Youth Leisure Opportunities
6th Annual Mother-Son Gym Jam!
Calling all mothers (or mother-figures) and their sons to spend an
evening together during the Rec Center’s game night! Moms and
sons will play indoor games such as kickball, dodgeball, and
cornhole! Boys will also try their luck at BINGO to win some
great sports memorabilia, coupons, and gift cards to area
activities / restaurants. Pizza and refreshments will be provided!
Don’t miss the ice cream sundae bar, as well! A great way to spend
some mother-son quality time in an “all-in-good-fun,”

Youth Indoor Soccer and Futsal Leagues
A fun way to keep kids active in soccer through the winter months! Games are played at the New Franklin
Ruritan Center and/or Rec Center. Indoor Soccer allows players to use the walls to strategize and provides
more continuous play for those participating at a more recreational level. Futsal utilizes the basketball
court touch lines as the boundary, providing a more technical and controlled game experience.

Individual Registration Only and Rec Dept. forms teams; T-shirts are provided.
(Volunteer coaches are needed!)
The K-2nd grade season consists of 4 practices and 4 games. The 3rd-5th grade season consists of 3 practices and 5
games. 6th-8th grade seasons consist of 2 practices and 6 games, and will participate in a post-season tournament.
All games and practices will be held in similar time frames within the approximate time-frames listed below.

Team Registration Only. Accepting single-gender or co-ed teams. Must provide your own uniform shirt. Brackets
organized according to divisions listed. If we do not receive a sufficient number of teams for each division we may
combine, but this will be discussed with coaches prior to any reorganization.
Teams in each division receive 1 practice, 6 games and a post-season play-off tournament. Practices and games will
be held in similar time frames within the approximate time-frames listed below. See below for practice and game

K-3rd Grade Basketball League
This fun, instructional league will be sure to excite all young
basketball enthusiasts! The season incorporates mostly skill
instruction and games, and is held at the Recreation Center in Gym I.
Baskets are lowered to 8' and teams play 4 v 4. Individual
registration only. K-1st grades receive 5 practices and play 3 games;
2nd-3rd grades receive 4 practices and play 4 games.

The weather may be getting cooler and the facility may be closed, but
the Chambersburg Aquatic Center is still offering activities
and rental opportunities!
Splash Pad
After Labor Day, the Splash Pad will remain open Sunday-Saturday from 9 AM-8 PM (or
dusk) through the warm, fall months! Free to use!
Activity Area
Beginning after Labor Day through mid October on Saturdays from 12-6 PM and Sundays from 1-5 PM,
activity areas will be open! Unlimited mini-golf, sand volleyball, basketball and skate park! Youth under the
age of 12 or 6th grade must be accompanied by an individual 16 years of age or older. Children 2 years of
age and under are free!

Beginning after Labor Day through mid October, Group Party Rentals are available for the Activity Area
during the regular operating hours of 12-6 PM on Saturdays and 1-5 PM on Sundays. Includes unlimited

and picnic tables under the pavilion! Reserve facility in 3 hour increments. Party must end by 4:30 PM.

Did you know that the Eugene C. Clarke, Jr. Community Center (A.K.A. the "Rec
Center") provides space for numerous indoor activities and includes small meeting
rooms, two gymnasiums, and a large banquet room? Reserve a room for a business or
club meeting, social gathering, birthday, wedding reception, or anniversary party. OR,
reserve one of the gymnasiums for an athletic team practice, recreational games, or
youth activity. Call 717-261-3275 for more information.

programs, EXCEPT leagues. You must obtain a separate form to register for these programs.

Refund / Transfer Policies
Programs
We will offer refunds for any program, provided you contact us 7 days prior to the first class. (A $5.00 administrative fee will be
retained by the Recreation Department for each refund issued.) After this time refunds will not be issued except for medical emergencies.
Returned Checks
Any check returned for insufficient funds will be assessed an additional $12.
Register Early! Any program that doesn’t receive sufficient registration by the deadline may be canceled.
