2020–2021 Canadian Fee Waiver Instructions
Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and Protected Persons/Convention
Refugees in Canada who need a fee waiver for LSAC services may apply through the LSAC
Canadian Fee Waiver process. To request a fee waiver, complete the following application,
which determines your financial status.

Fill out the application completely and accurately. Be sure to sign and date the application. Any
misrepresentation of information on the application is subject to LSAC misconduct and
irregularities proceedings. Retain a copy of the application for your records.

Please submit your completed application by email to CanadianFeeWaiver@LSAC.org or by
paper mail to LSAC, Attn: Fee Waivers, 662 Penn Street, PO Box 2000, Newtown, PA 18940
4 to 6 weeks prior to the registration deadline for the LSAT administration you wish to take.
Prior to submitting your fee waiver application, please create an online account at LSAC.org.

Please send all tax documentation supporting your fee waiver application (Notice of
Assessment for you, and for your spouse or parents, if applicable) with your application,
whether by email or by paper mail. Your application cannot be processed if this
documentation is not received.

If your request for a fee waiver is approved, it will cover the following LSAC services only:

   •   two LSATs (test dates must fall within the two-year fee waiver period), including LSAT
       Writing™
   •   a one-year subscription to LSAC’s Official LSAT Prep PlusSM, which provides access to
       more than 60 practice tests in the authentic Digital LSAT environment
   •   Score Preview for first-time test takers who wish to see their score before deciding
       whether or not to keep it as part of their LSAC transcript and report it to schools
   •   Note: Free Khan Academy Official LSAT® Prep is available at
       khanacademy.org/prep/LSAT

In the event that you are applying to U.S. law schools and are seeking a waiver for the LSAC
Credential Assembly ServiceSM (CASSM), if you are eligible, this fee waiver application will
cover one registration for CAS, including a total of six law school reports, the Letter of
Recommendation Service, and access to electronic applications for all ABA-approved law
schools.

After your application is processed you will receive an email indicating whether your
application was approved or denied. If your fee waiver application is approved, you may begin
registering for services using your fee waiver. A credit card will be required for any fees not
covered by the fee waiver. All credit card payments will be charged in U.S. dollars. If your fee
waiver application is denied, you may appeal the decision. Appeal instructions will be included
in your email notification. Note that appeal decisions are final.
