Calgary Pride’s mandate is to advance visibility and inclusion for Calgary’s gender and sexually diverse communities. To do this we endeavour to build strong community partnerships, implement ongoing year round programming and produce the 4th largest Pride celebration in Canada. In order to achieve success we rely upon the generous support of our members and community partners. You ensure that we can continue to offer a free annual celebration of diversity to all Calgarians. And your investment allows us to offer enhanced programming throughout the year, bringing us closer to a city free from discrimination against gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
We believe that partnerships such as yours are monumentally impactful in fostering strong community connections, and continue to fortify the human rights movement. We take great care in working with our partners to curate engagement and recognition strategies that speak to the core values of both organizations, and that convey this authentically to the LGBTQ2S+ community and their allies.

This is where Calgary’s entrepreneurial spirit can make a huge difference. Between August 28 and September 6, we invite you to host group activities, trivia nights, park hikes, backyard barbecues, watch parties, art or history walks, or whatever other creative idea you have! Make it welcoming, easy for people to participate, and fun – but you must stay within the Alberta Restrictions on Gatherings as they are defined during Pride Week. We ask that your #OurPride initiative includes a fundraising component for attendees that might be in a position to support Calgary Pride’s efforts to make our great city more diverse, inclusive, and safer for members of the gender and sexually diverse community. This is not just a Pride celebration. This is all of us, together, for Calgary Pride.

In this year round program participants are able to experience those who glamorously interpret gender expression and imagine a colourful world where people can express their identity freely. Join us in sparking imagination and celebrating inclusion at this family-friendly story-time program, led by local drag Monarchy, and produced monthly at libraries around the city and at a variety of community events.

PRIDE AMPLIFIED
NOVEMBER 2020
This initiative is one part programming for queer kids, one part
fundraising gala for city-wide programs in support of mental
health and resiliency building programs for queer youth; our
organization was overjoyed with the enthusiasm we heard from
adults and kiddos alike. Last year we raised $55,000 to support our
very own Reading with Royalty program and charitable partners,
The Skipping Stone Foundation, Camp Fyrefly and Calgary Queer
Arts Society who are creating amazing spaces and experiences for
queer youth each and every day! This year we are also supporting
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Calgary who provide the only support for
homeless LGBTQ2S+ Youth in Calgary.
Attending and supporting Evolve: Pride Amplified sends a
bold message to queer youth that they are loved, valued
and welcome, and that we need them as part of a diverse,
compassionate and culturally vibrant landscape in Calgary

Many members of the LGBTQ2S+ community find themselves displaced and without family, which is further exacerbated during Christmas. To combat this, we are pleased to produce annually a holiday dinner and show, with entry by donation. We want to ensure that each and every person within our community has an opportunity to take part, connect with friends, meet new ones, and celebrate our diversity!
