2021 Summary of Benefits (Toronto Canada)
PayPal benefits are designed to help you support you and your family, so you can take care of what matters
most. We’re here to support you, no matter what life throws your way. Your health, your finances, your family—
your overall well-being. This summary highlights our 2021 Benefit programs for employees working in Toronto,
Canada.
Eligibility
Eligibility for the following benefits is effective as of your date of hire and available for employees
working 20 or more hours a week. Eligible dependents include spouses and unmarried children under age
21 (or under age 25 for full-time students).
Healthcare
Extended Health Care The extended health care plan reimburses medical expenses for you
and your eligible dependents that are not paid by provincial health
care. Maximum amounts shown below are per covered person. The
overall lifetime maximum for in-Canada expenses is unlimited. Out-of-
Canada expenses are subject to a $3,000,000 lifetime maximum per
person
• Reimbursement:
- 90% for the first $2,500 paid claims for prescription drugs
reimbursed based on generic drug cost; 100% reimbursement
thereafter in a calendar year
- 90% for paramedical services;
- 100% for all other benefits (emergency out-of-country, hospital,
medical services and supplies, and vision)
• Annual deductible: No deductible
• Paramedical practitioners: annual maximum of $1,500 combined,
including chiropractors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, naturopaths,
speech therapists, osteopaths, massage therapists,
psychologists/social workers, clinical counsellors, and
acupuncturists
• Private duty nursing: annual maximum of $10,000;
• Other coverage: medical appliances and supplies, ambulance, semi-
private hospital room and various other coverage
• Out-of-province emergency medical and travel benefits (Global
Medical Assistance):
- Medical expenses and travel assistance in case of an emergency
while traveling

Dental The dental care plan reimburses dental expenses to help you and your
family maintain healthy teeth and gums. Maximums shown are per
person.
• Annual maximum for basic & major services combined: $2,500
• Reimbursement: varies by service provided
• Deductible: none
• Basic Services:
- Reimbursement: 100%
- Diagnostic, preventative and restorative (fillings); extractions and
minor surgery
- Periodontics (treatment of gum disease)
- Endodontics (root canal therapy)
• Check-up frequency: every 6 months
• Major Services:
- Reimbursement: 50%
- Crowns, inlays and onlays, bridges, dentures
• Orthodontic Services (children only):
- Reimbursement: 50%
- Treatment of crooked and misaligned teeth
• Lifetime orthodontic maximum: $2,000
Vision Care • Eye exam: Once per year
• Combined maximum of glasses, contact lenses and laser eye
surgery: $300 every 24 months ($300 every 12 months for children
under age 19)
Employer Company pays 100% of premiums for employee and dependents.
Contribution
Retirement
Retirement Plan Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). PayPal will match
100% of your contributions up to 4% of base earnings annually. All
combined annual contributions must be less than your personal RRSP
deduction limit, which is set by the Canada Revenue Agency annually.
Employee Contributions Voluntary
Time Off
Paid Time Off 16 days in your first year of employment, then an additional day each
subsequent year up to 20 days per year.

Sabbatical After 5 years of service, employees are eligible for 4 weeks of paid
sabbatical.
Sick Leave • Regular full-time salaried employees are entitled to use up to 5 paid
sick leave days each year.

• Regular part-time salaried employees earn paid sick leave on a pro-
rata basis.
Bereavement Leave • Up to twenty (20) consecutive business days of paid time off with
regular base pay to all regular employees when an employee’s
spouse, domestic partner (DP), civil partner (CP), child, stepchild,
DP child or CP child passes away.
• Up to three (3) consecutive business days of paid time off with
regular base pay to full-time and part-time regular employees
when an employee’s parent, stepparent, grandparent, legal
guardian, parent-in-law, sibling or stepsibling passes away.
• PayPal provides one (1) day of paid time off with regular base pay
to full-time and part-time regular employees when an employee’s
aunt, uncle, brother- and sister-in-law, and daughter- or son-in-
law, cousin, niece or nephew passes away.
• Up to 2 additional days if extensive travel is required.
Pregnancy Leave Up to 17 consecutive weeks: During the pregnancy leave, the
employee may be eligible to receive benefits under Employment
Insurance (EI) and the Company Pregnancy Benefit Pay (PBP).
Parental Leave A birth mother who has taken pregnancy leave is entitled to take up to 61
consecutive weeks of unpaid leave. A birth mother who has not taken
pregnancy leave is entitled to take up to 63 weeks of unpaid leave. Other
parents are entitled to take up to 63 consecutive weeks of unpaid leave.
Other Leaves • Give Time Off: One day annually
• Personal Leave: up to 30 days of unpaid leave
Life and Disability Insurance
Life Insurance • Basic employee life insurance: 2 x annual base earnings up to
$500,000; premium paid by PayPal
• Spousal life insurance: $10,000
• Child life insurance: $5,000
• Optional employee life insurance: units of $10,000 to a maximum of
$500,000; paid by employee
• Optional spouse life insurance: units of $10,000 to a maximum of
$500,000; paid by employee
Accidental Death and • Basic employee accident insurance: 2 x annual base earnings;
Dismemberment premium paid by PayPal
(AD&D) • Optional employee & family accident insurance: paid by employee
- Employee coverage: units of $10,000 to a maximum of $250,000
- Spousal coverage: 50% of the employee AD&D coverage if you do
not have children, or 40% of your AD&D coverage, if you have
children
- Child(ren) coverage: 10% of your AD&D coverage if you do not
have a spouse, or 5% of your AD&D coverage if you have a spouse
Short-Term Disability • Waiting period: 7 calendar days (waived for accidental injury or if
you are hospitalized)
• Benefits payments: 75% of your weekly base earnings up to $3,000
• Maximum benefit period: 17 weeks
• Premium paid by PayPal
Long-Term Disability • Waiting period: 119 days
• Benefit payments:
- 66 2/3% of first $2,500 of monthly base earnings plus 50% of the
next $3,500 of monthly base earnings plus 40% of the remainder
of monthly base earnings up to $10,000 (tax-free)

• Maximum benefit period: as long as you meet the definition of
disability and insurance carrier’s requirements to a maximum of age
65
• Premium paid by employee
Business Travel Insurance
Accidental Death The lesser of: (i) 5 times annual base salary; or (ii) USD $1,000,000
Out-Of-Country Medical coverage is provided for employees and accompanying
Medical dependents while traveling on company business outside the country
where they normally work, subject to a USD $50 deductible per
incident. Total maximum for all medical expense benefits is USD
$200,000 per trip and per person.
Out-Of-Country Reimbursement is provided for lost or stolen personal items up to USD
Lost/Stolen Baggage $500 per item, and limited to USD $1,000 per incident, when
employees are traveling outside the country where they normally
work.
Out-Of-Country Reimbursement is provided for lost or stolen cash or cash equivalents
Lost/Stolen Cash up to USD $500 per item, and limited to USD $1,000 per incident, when
employees are traveling outside the country where they normally
work.
Employer The company pays 100% of the premiums for employee coverage.

Additional Benefits
Expert Medical Medical issues can impact your life, and decisions you make about
Opinion (offered them are critical. All eligible employees will have access to Expert
through Advance Medical Opinion (EMO), a free service that offers support and
Medical) information to help you make fully informed decisions about care and
treatment plans. EMO services are offered through Advance Medical, a
global health care services provider.
Education Assistance PayPal encourages and financially supports continuing education and
development programs that meet the career goals of our employees
and are aligned with the needs of our business, reimbursing up to $
5,250 annually.
PayPal Gives Give back to your community, and we’ll reward your efforts. PayPal
matches your donations to qualified nonprofits, dollar for dollar, up to
$2,500 a year. Even if you give just $10, we’ll match it. Plus, you have
up to 8 hours per year to volunteer your time to a qualified nonprofit
of your choice.
Employee Assistance Professional assistance for a wide range of circumstances, including
Plan (EAP) Optum personal and work-related stress, couple and marital relationships,
childcare and parenting challenges, elder care concerns, depression
and anxiety, alcohol and drug misuse, family matters, bereavement,
legal issues, financial concerns, career issues, and crisis and trauma
counseling.
Employee Relief Fund Our employees are our family, and we support each other and our
overall wellness in good times and through difficult situations. This is
why we have established the PayPal Employee Relief Fund (the
“Fund”), which provides assistance to our employees who are facing
financial hardship immediately after an unforeseen, life-altering
personal hardship.

journey. Cleo’s experts can support you every step of the way from birth
preparation, breastfeeding, newborn sleep, to the return to work and
beyond. Receive on-demand access to experts, personalized care plans,
curated content, global parenting specialists, like early childhood
educators, therapists and career coaches.
ReThink Family support with 24/7 access to an online portal filled with thousands of
step-by-step resources to help families raising children with learning, social
or behavioral challenges, or developmental disabilities. With Rethink, you
can collaborate with and connect all members of your child’s care team
(teachers, therapists, medical professionals and family members) through
one platform, which provides access to board-certified behavioral
therapists, even if your child hasn’t been given a formal diagnosis.
