                form of the Chinese Characters and pick up reading skills in
                “Literacy Playground”.

The Malay curriculum is named “cekap” which is the abbreviation from:
 C – Cungkil (extract)
 E – Eksplorasi/Eksplisit/Estetik (exploration/explicit/aesthetic)
 K – Kandungan/Kecekapan/Komunikasi (content/skills/communication)
 A – Aktif/Aplikasi/Autentik (active/application/authentic)
 P – Pengajaran Pembezaan/Penilaian Holistik (differentiated learning/holistic assessment)

How to make use of the ML Textbook?
• pre-reading - 10 lessons to teach basic reading; - teaching of phonics through letters, syllable, words and sentences;
•   words are coloured according to its pronunciation to facilitate reading;
•   words are arranged according to the level of difficulty (from simple to difficult words; from concrete to abstract
words); each unit have five subtopics;
 Listening and Speaking skills as a focus for lower primary

 Learn to recognise Tamil letters, words and phrases, and also pronounce
  them accurately.

 Tamil letters and vocabulary are introduced through real-life contexts.
