We look forward to your company at the 2015 Sunbeam Nationals in
Loxton, South Australia
The Sunbeam Car Owners Club of South Australia is delighted to host the 2015 Nationals
and has selected the mid-size South Australian Riverland town of Loxton as the venue for the
annual gathering.
Loxton, and the Riverland district generally, enjoys fine daily weather and pleasant evenings
in spring, perfect for motoring and outdoor activities. These are very good reasons for
selecting September 18th – 21st for our annual gathering.
Our program is designed to include only a few of the best experiences that the Riverland can
offer, with an opportunity to extend your stay and participate in other classic motoring events
in South Australia. We have been fortunate in achieving recognition of our motoring brand as
the focus of the 2015 Bay to Birdwood event and as such, will head the run in prestige
position. We hope that as many as possible will be able to stay on and join in and we will
keep you informed about arrangements you will need to make in order to participate as they
become available.
It is now time for you to confirm your bookings, pay your deposits and “Lock in for
Loxton”. You can do this by completing the Registration Forms at the end of this publication
and posting them to us with your payment, or you can do it all on-line by following the links
provided on the Registration Form.
Registration Entertainment Package fee is $210 per adult. Concession fee for children 5yo to 12yo is $60, 12yo to
15yo is $105 with no fee for children under 5yo.
Please forward payment either by cheque (payee Sunbeam Car Owners Club of SA, with a copy of your
Registration Form) to PO Box 112 Glenside SA 5065 or direct payment BSB 805050, Account 61387767, with your
name and state as the reference.
DEPOSIT OF $60pp (except children under 5yo) IS REQUIRED BY 1ST MARCH 2015 WITH BALANCE
BY 1ST AUGUST 2015 TO CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION, OR YOU CAN PAY IN FULL BY 1ST
MARCH.
Arrangements for other payment instalments can be made on request
You will also need to book your accommodation direct with the Loxton Hotel.

Provisional Program
Friday 18th September 2015
Arrivals, book-in, registration and buffet dinner in Loxton Hotel’s
2.00pm – 9.00pm Reflections room. (included in your Entertainment Package). Otherwise, free
time and travel recovery.
Saturday 19th September 2015
7.00am – 9.00am Breakfast in the Bistro (included in your Hotel Package)
Car display and judging – to be conducted in the median strip car park in
front of the Loxton Hotel.
9.00am – midday Various attractions, within walking distance of the car judging venue, are
available for your selection. For example, visit the Loxton Historical Village
for a reasonable cost.
Depart from Loxton and travel to Renmark, for PS Industry 90 min. steam
powered “side-wheeler” boat trip (including freshly made scones, jam and
cream refreshments). Due to passenger loading limits we will split in to two
Midday – 4.00pm groups, one will take the boat ride; the other will tour the highlights of
Renmark. On the boat’s return these groups will swap activities. You will
need to self-cater for lunch – plenty of opportunities in Renmark. The PS
Industry cruise in included in your Entertainment Package.
5.00pm – 6.00pm Happy Hour on the hotel swimming pool lawns.
Dinner Dance at the Loxton Club. (included in your Entertainment Package)
7.00pm – M/N
The Loxton Club is about a 15 minute walk from the Loxton Hotel.
Sunday 20th September 2015
7.00am – 9.00am Breakfast in the Bistro (included in your Hotel Package)
9.00am – 11.00am President’s Meeting at the Loxton Hotel
Run to Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery (via Lyrup ferry and Paringa) and a
tour of the brewery, with running board lunch delivered to Wilkadene by the
11.00am – 4.00pm Loxton Hotel. (included in your Entertainment Package). Of interest only a
few kilometres from Wilkadene, is a location where the state borders of
NSW, Vic and SA meet on the banks of the Murray River.
5.00pm – 6.00pm Happy Hour on the hotel swimming pool lawns.

Monday 21st September 2015

Check-out, farewells and depart for home, or on to Adelaide for Motorfest

Accommodation Booking
You should book your accommodation package (which
includes buffet breakfast) direct with Loxton Hotel.
There is a range of hotel and motel style rooms, all fully
refurbished and self-contained and you can nominate
(depending on availability) if you require single, double,
twin share etc., all at a special three night bed and breakfast
rate
When you make contact, make sure you identify yourself as
attending the Sunbeam Nationals as we have booked the
entire facility and they won’t accept bookings from non-
Sunbeam enquiries.

Judging proposal, sample judging sheet and criteria
We have put together a
simplified and inclusive
independent judging process
for the 2015 Nationals and
are looking forward to your
support.
Vehicle judging will be in
seven categories:-

Series Alpine
Talbot
Tiger
Rapier
Post 1968 Sunbeam
Pre 1958 Sunbeam
We plan to use the simple
scoring form as shown here
and there will be no
assessment relating to
originality. We simply wish
to assess the presentation
and pride shown in
ownership of our brand of
vehicle.
There will also be
Club of the Year
People’s Choice
categories.

Pride of Ownership
We will be recruiting members of local car clubs to work in pairs, and each pair will be allocated a category and
judge all entries in that category. Attendees who wish to have their vehicle included in the judging will have a
windscreen label issued with a category and number, for instance, the first Mark Alpine entered will be MA1,
the first Series Alpine will be SA1 and so on. The result is that the judging will be independent and unbiased by
focussing on the vehicle rather than the state or club.
The winner in each category will be presented with an individual trophy to keep, and each of the existing
Perpetual Trophies will be assigned to a respective category so that the tradition can continue.
“Club of the Year” will be determined arithmetically by totalling the top two scorers from each club in each
category. “People’s Choice” will be determined through registries voting slip simple majority.
Other “social” awards – Hard Luck Story, Most Miles Travelled to the Nationals, Most Miles Travelled Since
the Last Nationals and a range of other novelty prizes, will be assessed by the Organising Committee.

The following is the 2014 Motorfest Program as an example of the activities which will be organised in the two weeks
following our Nationals. The program is one week before and one week after the Bay to Birdwood – you can stay for as long
as you like and participate in as many as you choose. This copy is unfortunately not very clear, but you can explore the
