Sunday, October 6th
We encourage runners to use the free shuttle bus service to the start area. Please note that the bus service to
the start is limited to registered runners and is not available to spectators. The buses going to the start do
not return to the parking area or the finish line. In other words, if you get on the bus, you are running back to
your car in Milwaukee.

Runners can get on the shuttle buses at the following locations:

General Race Day Parking (all runners) at the Henry Maier Festival Grounds-200 N Harbor Street. Buses load
from 5:15am-6:00am.

Host hotels (Drury Hotel and Courtyard). Bus leaves at 6:00am. This bus is only available to registered
runners who are guests of these two hotels. Must show bib and be on the hotel manifest to board the
shuttle."

If you are staying at a local hotel, please contact them and ask if they will provide shuttle service to the
Henry Maier Festival Grounds. Parking at the Henry Maier Festival Grounds is free to register runners and
spectators. Portable toilets will be available near the shuttle bus pick-up area.

Runners can also be dropped off at Grafton High School on race morning. Parking is available ONLY in the
two official lots (follow volunteers directions near the start line). Anyone parking in private property or in “no
parking zones” are subject to fines and towing–no excuses!

 WEATHER
We want to ensure a safe event for everyone involved with the Milwaukee Lakefront
Marathon. Therefore, the race staff will make decisions about race cancellations/modifications
based on the safety of all that are involved – this includes the participants, the volunteers, the
spectators and the host communities. Specifically, the race staff reserves the right to cancel or
modify the race if deemed necessary to protect the participants, the volunteers, the spectators
or the host community. These conditions will be recognized as unforeseeable acts. Since the
staging of the race results in substantial up-front expenses regardless of whether or not the
race is completed, cancellation or modification of the race will not result in the refunding of
race entry fees or future race credits.

Severe weather conditions include:
  Thunderstorms or lightning
  Extreme heat & humidity
  High winds
  Extreme cold temperature
  Heavy rain, sleet or snow

The weather can change during the course of the event. A flag system will be used to
communicate weather status. These flags will be placed at the aid stations.

RUNNER TRACKING
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is pleased to offer LIVE race tracking available to all athletes
at no charge. Race Joy (racejoy.net) Runners must carry their GPS enabled phone for spectators to
be able to locate you on the course. Download the app. Track all your athletes once bib numbers
are given out. In addition, we will ALSO have the traditional mat timing that will send text
messages to those tracking you. Instructions for how to sign up will be given to athletes prior to
 the race.

FINISH LINE EXTRAVAGANZA
IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE A PHOTO ID AT THE FINISH LINE IF YOU
 WISH TO HAVE A BEER.
This year we have our biggest stage ever for the finish line after party. And we are putting it
to good use. We know there will not be a lot of runners who will be standing on picnic tables
dancing and doing the splits but we do know that having Dirty Boogie gracing our stage will
keep the smiles on your faces and your hearts rejoicing. Finish your race strong, grab a
beverage, get into some great conversations with others about your day and enjoy the sights
 and sounds of Dirty Boogie!

INSPIRATION
"You're capable of more than you think."
“RUN WHEN YOU CAN, WALK IF YOU HAVE TO, CRAWL IF YOU MUST; JUST NEVER GIVE UP.”

"If you want to run, run a mile. If you want to experience a
              different life, run a marathon."
“Every run is a work of art, a drawing on each day’s canvas. Some runs are shouts and some runs
are whispers. Some runs are eulogies and others celebrations.”

"There are no shortcuts in marathoning, so anyone who is
a marathoner has worked hard."
