counsellors’ training
All day camp counsellors at Laval day camps
are certified by the DAFA program, a reassuring
certification!
• Certification is required for all day camp staff
• 30 hours of theoretical training
• 35 hours of practical training
• All employees receive CPR/AED training,
which is updated every 3 years
• Weekly first aid training during day camp weeks
to keep all staff up to date
• More than 20 hours of complementary training
in leading activities, customer service, special
clienteles and intervention techniques

A renewed program!
Victor Hernandez Sanchez, better known as VHS, needs help to find the best equipment for shooting his first movie. His best friend
Da-Vid Doré, better known as DVD, has found a solution to the situation: Call upon the creativity and imagination of the youngsters
at Laval’s day camps to find the equipment needed to produce his movie.
To help him carry out his great project, the children will have to travel through 7 different movie worlds to collect the equipment
needed to film the movie.

Information for parents
Consult the parents’ guide at daycamps.laval.ca (under City Day Camps) and the instructions to follow
to ensure a pleasant experience for your child (In French only).
Read the calendar received Sundays by email to find out the week’s activities.
If campers disrupt the activities or group harmony in an unacceptable manner, their parents or guardians will be notified.
They may be expelled from camp as a result.
Parent meetings
Because indoor gatherings are prohibited, there will be no meetings with parents this summer. However, an informative video will
be posted on the website in mid-June.
For the Integration program and Campgourou, parents will receive a call from the assigned counsellor to check the information on
the child’s file.
