240 Project
The 240 Project is an arts and health activity centre for people
affected by homelessness, vulnerability and exclusion. The project
runs a wide range of creative arts groups and health-improving
activities. It also offers one-to-one support in life skills such as
cooking for independent living, budgeting, tenant relations, and
working through debt.

African Women Care
African Women Care offers advice, information, support and
advocacy enabling women to access health, social care, housing
and welfare benefits, as well as counselling and mentoring for
women who have experienced or are affected by domestic
violence. It offers a drop-in advocacy service and therapeutic
family support for families and community members affected
by the Grenfell Tower disaster. It also provides a dedicated
project worker who can visit families and children at different safe
locations.

Catholic Children’s Society
The Catholic Children’s Society (CCS) provides qualified and
experienced counsellors to deliver one-to-one and/or group
sessions for pupils at the following schools:
• St Charles primary school
• St Francis of Assisi primary school
• St Mary’s primary school
• Sion Manning Girls’ school
CCS also delivers stay and play for children aged 0-5 and their
parents at St Mark’s park.

Community Living Well – Mother Tongue
Counselling
Delivered by Wandsworth & Westminster Mind, Mother Tongue
Service offers up to 12 free one-to-one counselling sessions in
Arabic and Farsi languages to adults (18+) who are registered
with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea, Queens Park or
Paddington, for the management of mental health difficulties such
as stress, anxiety, depression, symptoms of trauma and culturally
sensitive bereavement support. The sessions are usually held at
St Charles Centre for Health & Wellbeing (weekdays only).

5A to Z of services 2018 Dadihiye Somali Development Organisation Drop-in service – Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm giving information on housing, benefits, education and other forms of support, as well as letter writing, telephoning and translating on behalf of clients. Befriending service – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – 10am to 1pm (we are flexible with timings). Early years
Children’s centres are warm and friendly places and welcome
resident families with a child under five. The main centres
are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Holmfield House
Children’s Centre is also open once a month on a Saturday.
At each centre you will find a team of friendly Engagement
Officers who can talk you through the right services for you and
your family. The centres provide access to counselling therapists
to support children and their parents via our centres. Counsellors
will be present at the centres listed below each week. During the
afternoon they are available at some community-based stay and
play.

7A to Z of services 2018 Epic CIC Our services are aimed at children and young people from 6 up to the age of 19 and 25 for those with a lifelong learning difficulty and/or disability (LLDD). The programme will work with young people and get them to look at how they manage difficult feelings and situations of conflict, particularly in the aftermath of the Grenfell disaster. They will also learn techniques for communicating more skilfully in conflict situations and increase their understanding of how to build better relations within and between different communities and groups. Within the programme young people will develop their voice and agency by delivering social action projects and pass on their learning through the delivery of peer education sessions to other young people in the local community. Ethiopian Women’s Empowerment Group
The Ethiopian Women’s Empowerment Group works with all
BAMER women in need, regardless of their country of origin.
The group is based at the Latymer Community Centre, and
provides:

Full of Life
Full of Life is a local parent-run charity providing support and
services to families, parent carers and their disabled children, and
young adults. It offers free practical advice, support and advocacy
in addition to delivering services for young people with complex
needs.

9A to Z of services 2018 Grenfell Muslim Response Unit The Grenfell Muslim Response Unit was set up by independent volunteers in response to the Grenfell Fire. The project, now hosted by the National Zakat Foundation, is supported by Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid and Aziz Foundation. The team provides 1-1 rep support for families from the tower and surrounding residents and provides a call in service at the Curve. Support provisions include assistance with funerals, bereavement, day to day mobility support, advocacy, respite, education and welfare access. The Grenfell Muslim Response Unit serves all those affected, regardless of race, religion or background. They provide drop-in counselling and support groups which are open to anyone who needs help. This includes practical and emotional support, including what parents can tell their children about the Grenfell Tower fire and coming to terms with the tragedy. Hestia’s Outreach team helps you access the support you need during the day through an individualised programme and access to groups and support at the Recovery Café. Hodan Somali community
Serving the Somali community since 2005, Hodan works primarily
with vulnerable people including single mothers and their children,
older people, people with disabilities and/or mental health difficulties,
and young people not in education, employment or training.

Journey of Hope
A peer support network for people who are experiencing a sense
of despair. Journey of Hope organises retreats for people who
are isolated, focusing on improving their resilience and sense of
wellbeing.

Latimer Community Art Therapy (LCAT)
Art Psychotherapy is a psychological therapy that uses art
media as its primary form of communication within a therapeutic
relationship. It is not dependent on spoken language and can
therefore provide an accessible way to engage with difficult
emotions.

Making Communities Work and Grow
Working mostly with young people from black and ethnic minority
backgrounds, Making Communities Work and Grow has been
working with local communities since 1992. It organises activities,
support and events for children and families, including outreach
work at Ladbroke Grove station; advice and support to young
people; and events for families and children, including residential

trips, boxing, taekwondo, football, days out and coffee mornings
for parents. It also runs an Arabic supplementary school on
Saturdays.

Kooth Online Counselling
Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online counselling and
support service for young people (11 to 19). The service provides
sessions with qualified counsellors, moderated peer-support and
self-help articles. Self-help articles are available 24/7, 365 days
a year.

Overnight counselling
Overnight counselling is offered for residents in hotels.
Counsellors from Hestia and Total Family Coaching are providing
this service in hotels from 8pm to 3am daily.
Hestia, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust,
and the Drug and Alcohol Service are working in partnership to
provide overnight support at the Notting Hill Methodist Church.

People Arise Now – PAN
PAN provides support to ex-offenders, and family members
of prisoners and ex-offenders, through mentoring, well-being
activities and workshops. It also provides ex-offenders with
rehabilitative support, and employable and sustainable life skills.
PAN aims to lower re-offending rates by providing ex-offenders
with the tools to successfully resettle back into the community.

17A to Z of services 2018 The Rugby Portobello Trust The Rugby Portobello Trust helps and supports local people by providing facilities, activities and guidance that promote a stable society in the W11 area. The Trust is delivering a number of specific projects in response to community needs following the Grenfell fire. These include a Magic Mums parenting programme; emotional wellbeing sessions; new homes services; grant giving; an adult football project and a community café. To ensure parents are able to maximise the benefits of the therapies, the Early Years’ Service is able to offer crèche places for children while parents attend these sessions. This service is referral only. Total Family Coaching Total Family Coaching is a team of highly-skilled family and parenting practitioners offering an intensive support package to reduce trauma and enhance the wellbeing of families. It’s a multi- lingual team (covering Arabic, Albanian, Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi and Serbo-Croat) which, via individual and group coaching sessions, is helping families to become more confident in supporting their child’s needs. Total Family Coaching also offers a Grief Recovery Programme to support parents with strategies in helping children deal with loss. 18

Westway Trust
The Westway Trust is a charity committed to enhancing the 23
acres of space under the Westway flyover to benefit local people,
making it a great environment to live, work, play and visit. In
response to the Grenfell fire they are offering enhanced services
and support to schools, families and young people, including
supporting family members who have arrived from overseas,
providing crèche facilities, sports provision and workshops/
classes.
