Welcome to North Croydon Best Start Planning
Area One Children’s Centres.
Children Centres and community venues in the
Best Start Area One North Croydon
This programme includes details of activities that are held at our centres and at other venues in this
area.
All sessions are free
Each centre offers various activities and support services for families. Including access to funded
childcare places .
Our Early Help Team offer families support and information on a whole range of issues including help
with parenting, relationships, finding childcare and much more. Please enquire at one of the centres.
Make sure you check the venue and any booking details before setting out to avoid
disappointment.

Volunteering Opportunities
Through Croydon Best Start we run a comprehensive Volunteer and Best Start ‘Buddy’ programme so
please speak to a member of staff if you are interested in joining or contact the Croydon Best Start
team on croydonbeststart@croydon.gov.uk
The Parent Champions programme is based on the idea that parents are the best people to support
other parents to find out about childcare and early years services. Parent Champions are parent
volunteers who give a few hours a week to talk to other parents about the local services available to
them. By sharing their own experiences of using a local service for their children, Parent Champions
can build trust with other parents, ease any worries parents may have and encourage parents to make
the best of the help available to them and their children. Parent Champions help parents find the
jigsaw pieces they need to complete the picture.
