2018 INTERNATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

CREATING
FUTURES
HOSA-Future Health Professionals was honored to have
nearly 10,000 members, advisors, alumni, and guests attend the 41st
International Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas, June 27-30, 2018.
HOSA was represented by 54 chartered associations including Canada,
American Samoa, and Puerto Rico as well as guests from China.

Special congratulations to everyone who made it to the stage at the ILC -
what an accomplishment! 2017-2018 was an incredible year and,
together, all HOSA members represent the future of health -- it will be
exciting to see the future they create!

The week was filled with excitement and opportunities for its members to
come together to compete, learn and share their HOSA experiences.
Conference highlights included 60 health-related competitive events; 130
educational workshops; 114 exhibitors; the nation’s #1 doctor – The
Surgeon General, VADM Jerome Adams, M.D., M.P.H.; and a keynote
address from Rick Rigsby, Ph.D., one of the most passionate speeches
ever heard by HOSA members – he made an impact by sharing the
wisdom of a third-grade dropout.

HOSA’s Scholarship Recognition
HOSA’s Scholarship Program awarded $480,492 to 70 HOSA members in
scholarships at the international level. When these dollars are combined
with the $725,125 awarded by chartered associations, HOSA awarded
$1,205.617 in scholarships. Special thanks to all of HOSA's partners for
their continued sponsorship of HOSA’s scholarship program.

Each person’s life and journey are stories filled with events and feelings experienced or
                                        imagined.

2019’s theme encourages HOSA members to open up your books and begin writing your
life’s story. To live a meaningful life and accomplish your goals, you must first understand
what they are and DEFINE YOUR PURPOSE!

In this year’s identity, the open book signifies the possibilities of future goals and
aspirations that will come with hard work. The heart is shown to express the COURAGE it
takes to find a purpose in life and to resonate with the purpose of HOSA as an
organization. The color scheme represents an even balance of blues and reds to reflect
patriotism and the homestead of HOSA’s foundation.

As future leaders of the health community, HOSA members can exemplify the defined
purpose of the organization through “education, collaboration, and experience.” With these

GROW AS A LEADER.
As a health care professional and officer on the U.S. Army health care team,
you will enjoy a level of leadership development, hands-on training and life
experience that sets you apart. Army health care professionals assume
advanced roles earlier than their private-sector peers and become experts
in their field, while inspiring others to reach their full potential.

                                                                  Visit healthcare.goarmy.com to learn more.
