The dry, warm days are becoming more frequent which means summer is right around the corner! After a wild
year, I know all of us are ready to get outside and have some fun. There are plenty of ways to keep active
and busy over the next few months.
COOL! Pool opens for the season on June 19. After almost two years without patrons, we are ready to
have you play in the water. The Waverly Paddle Boats start up on June 22. This year, folks will be able to
paddle Tuesday-Sunday. And always, Albany Community Pool will continue to be open for lap swim, lessons,
and other recreation opportunities throughout the summer. Be sure to check the website for details on
pre-registration.
It wouldnʼt be summer in Albany without River Rhythms, Summer Sounds, and the Northwest Art & Air
Festival. They will be back this summer! They will look different, but we canʼt wait to get you all back in the
parks listening to live music, eating good food, and having a good time. Details will continue to evolve as we
navigate current risk levels but keep your eye on our website and social media for the latest and greatest.
As a reminder, Oregon Healthy Authority guidelines will be followed for all of our facilities, events, and
programs as safety is our number on priority. As the state continues to reopen, we look forward to bringing
even more of your favorite activities and programs back. If you ever have questions about what is open or

Refund Policy: Our mission is to provide quality recreational experiences that are financially sustainable.
Activities, programs, and classes must meet minimum enrollments in order to be offered. If Parks & Recreation for
any reason cancels an activity, program, or class a full refund will be issued. If a participant decides to cancel, a
refund will only be given if another participant is found. If a replacement is found and the participant is entitled to a
refund, they may choose a credit on their account or a refund in the original payment method. Refunds of less than
$5 will automatically be issued as credit.
Pricing: Fees listed on the left reflect a reduced price for in-city Albany residents. Those who live outside the city
limits pay full tuition. You may purchase an out-of-city user card ($40 individual/$80 family) which allows you to pay
in-city rates for one year.

SAFETY CAMP (AGES 7-11) 7
Spend a week with Albany Fire Department, Albany Police Department, and Albany
Parks & Recreation learning fire safety, water safety, smartphone safety, and more!
Kids will love playing games and doing activities with local police officers and fire
fighters, and they’ll be developing skills and friendships in the process.
A full day safety camp option is available under “Camp Albany: Junior Explorers.”

SKILLS CAMPS
All Wilderness Skills Camps are held in
Corvallis and are offered in partnership
with Coyle Outside and Corvallis Parks &
Recreation. Call Coyle Outside for details
about curriculum at 541-760-0774. Coyle
Outside donates 10% of its annual profit to
causes that benefit youth and nature.
Families
INTRO TO WILDERNESS SURVIVAL
(AGES 6-9)
Learn the basics of thriving in the wild. Campers learn
confidence, initiative, communication, and common
sense through fun survival scenarios in teams and on
their own. Skills taught include shelters, fire building,
cordage, navigation, knots, traps, primitive skills and
more. We wonʼt get to everything, because thereʼs so
much, but the week will be packed! We play survival
themed games and the week ends with an exciting
final scenario and a certificate of achievement. No
prerequisites. Supplies: Appropriate clothing, snacks,
and lunch daily.
FISH, FORAGE, FIRE! (AGES 8-13)
Learn the art of being a true outdoorsman! Our
primary activity will be fishing and the instructor
will fill out each day with lessons in foraging from
the natural world and increasing your archery
marksmanship! Fish lessons, as time allows, will
include baiting, cleaning and cooking as well as gear,
casting and, of course, fishing. Foraging will include
plant ID and how to safely harvest in various seasons.
Archery practice will occur several times throughout
the week with an emphasis on safety, practical use
and form. Supplies: Appropriate clothing, snacks, and
lunch daily.
JR. MOUNTAIN BIKING CAMP (AGES 8-11)
Students ride trails every day, learning to navigate
trees, rocks, roots, and hills. Bike maintenance
and proper gear are covered. Basic bike skills are
required. If you need ideas for renting, borrowing,
or purchasing a bike contact Dan Coyle at
541-760-0774. All profit goes to Team Dirt, a local
nonprofit that builds trails. Supplies: bike, helmet, face
covering, lunch, snacks, and water bottle.

INTERMEDIATE WILDERNESS SURVIVAL GIRLS’ EARTH SKILLS (AGES 9-14)
(AGES 8-11)
Work in teams to build communication and leadership
Five days of building survival skills and testing skills, and work independently to build focus, self-
yourself against survival scenarios! The skills taught/ esteem, and self-sufficiency by practicing an array

Build. Cool. Stuff. This camp is all about tool use,
creativity, and engineering. Each day we will
introduce a new building project that participants will
work on throughout the week to bring home. Projects
are generally themed for camping and outdoors. We
even try to build the tools we will use to build the
other things! Projects may include assembling a
bushcraft knife, a bone awl, wood baton, natural
fiber, cordage, hand carved wood spoon and/

We know movement and music are both great for our bodies and our minds – what
better than combining both in a dance or tumbling class? There are opportunities
for boys and girls to get moving and grooving as they build physical fitness,
teamwork, and creative skills in these fun dance classes!
SPLASH INTO MUSIC (AGES 2-3) FAIRYTALE DANCE

Skyhawks was founded as a soccer club in 1979.
Our Multi-Sport camp is designed to introduce young Thirty years later we are still the number one choice
athletes to a variety of different sports in one setting. for parents looking to refine their childʼs fundamentals
For this program we combine 2 -3 sports into one of the worldʼs most popular sport. Using our
fun-filled week. Athletes will learn the rules and progression curriculum, our sport-specific staff will
essentials of each sport through skill-based games ensure your young athlete will gain the technical
and scrimmages. By the end of the week, your child skills & sport knowledge required for their next step
will walk away with knowledge of new sports along into soccer. This camp focuses on dribbling, passing,
with vital life lessons such as respect, teamwork, and shooting, and ball control. By the end of the camp
self- discipline. your child will have learned new life skills such as
teamwork and sportsmanship, made new friends, and
improved their sport skills preparing them to play for
the playground or league play!

out the Albany Community Pool. You may rent the birthday celebration? COOL! Pool rates are $170 (In-
entire pool for $125 per hour. The price for half pool city)/$220 for one hour for up to 50 people, $205

refundable cleaning/damage deposit for all ACP pool are limited to 1 hour. There is a $100 refundable

Things to Know Before You Go Household Recreational Swims
Toys/Masks: Bring your own toys and masks. All lifejackets must be Coast Guard approved.
Adult Supervision: An adult must accompany anyone under age 18 and must be in the water within reach
of any child wearing a flotation device or any child 5 years of age or younger.
Hot Tub: 6 to 13 year olds must be supervised by an adult. Children under 6 years old are not allowed in
the hot tub. One household (or person) at a time in the hot tub. Sign up at the pool for your 15-minute slot.
