Overview
Cape supports the Asia
Pacific Rim offshore
industry with a wealth of
world-class services
Cape’s presence in the Far East / Pacific Rim is uniquely placed to
meet and exceed the demands of the growing offshore industry.
Our ability to provide large numbers of multi-skilled teams to
undertake a multitude of complex tasks is paramount to our
successful operations.
Cape seeks to strengthen partnering relationships with its clients
through a dual commitment of improving lead times and uptime,
while minimising downtime and overall project costs. We do this by
delivering up to 56 separate services to the offshore sector under
one contract and thus reducing the client’s management and
interface costs by a significant margin.
Adopting bespoke commercial arrangements reinforce Cape’s
commitment to deliver efficient and intelligent solutions at every
opportunity. We continue to work with our clients to provide
enhanced value through innovation and proficiency improvements.
At the same time, we are setting new international standards for
safety, welfare and quality management.
Cape Asia Pacific Rim Offshore has been involved in many of the
region’s major offshore projects including two present principal
maintenance contracts with ConocoPhillips Bayu-Undan in
the Timor Sea and the Shell Malampaya platform in the South
China Sea. Through programmes of multi-task training, Cape
has enhanced the skill level of the workforce on these platforms,
increasing productivity and bringing tangible benefits to the
projects.

Multi-disciplinary
By taking charge of a wide range of essential
offshore services, Cape ensures even better
safety and efficiency performance, which
means our clients don’t have to source separate
contractors. Today, Cape is recognised for
its scale and scope, making us the most cost-
effective provider of ‘turn-key’ solutions for major
construction, maintenance turnaround and
shutdown projects offshore.
Cape takes an intelligent approach to multi-disciplinary contracts. By working in
partnership with our clients, we analyse the task in hand and allocate the relevant
multi-skilled operatives to ensure cost and efficiency savings can be made without
compromising on quality and safety. Our clients are always assured of a highly trained,
efficient and integrated workforce that is tailored to their individual requirements and
quality controlled by Cape. Back up is provided by our tried and tested management
systems, so if an unforeseen demand does arise, the scale of our labour resource
coupled with our technical capability means that we can mobilise extra manpower and
equipment to ensure the job is completed on time.08 Asia Pacific Rim Offshore

With two regional training
hubs located in the Far
East and Australia, Cape
conducts training in line
with robust international
standards
Cape are proud to have the most substantial and
highly-trained resources in the industry.
We believe this is critical to our ability to continually provide safe, reliable and intelligent

best practice, by sharing our knowledge with other organisations.
We do this through our CapeSkills training and development centres based in Kwinana,
Western Australia and Manila, Philippines. Our Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
allows us to deliver nationally recognised and accredited customised training programs to
our industry clients, in turn maintaining a competitive edge by developing a highly skilled and
safe workforce.
Cape professionals are qualified to provide competency assessment in all of these fields:
• Scaffolding
• Working at heights
• Digging
• Rigging
• Elevating work platforms
• Forklift operations
• Overhead crane
• Safety awareness training (white card)
• IRATA rope access
• Asbestos removal, management and awareness
• Restricted asbestos licenses
Skills training and assessment
As well as being cost-effective, Cape’s training and assessment services help to create a
multi-skilled workforce, which means increased job flexibility and a more resourceful and
efficient operation.18 Asia Pacific Rim Offshore
Safety
Safe isn’t just a word at
Cape, it is a way of life
Our culture of continually improving safety means we
are constantly innovating: seeking better, safer ways to
accomplish every task, and working steadily towards
the ultimate goal of a totally incident and injury free
workplace.
The result is an exemplary safety record, with a 50% reduction in reportable accidents being
achieved over the last five years across the Cape Group.
All of our Supervisors and Managers undertake regular Leadership Behavioural Safety (which
we call Job Freeze) training to ensure that not only can they identify potential hazards to their
teams, but they can also offer effective leadership and guidance with regard to how these
hazards are controlled.
Everyone who joins Cape also undergoes comprehensive and compulsory health, safety and
environmental training, during their induction to the company, and on a regular basis after that.
So when you choose Cape to provide industrial services, you can rest assured that our people
care about safety just as much as yours do.
There’s safe, and then there’s CapeSafe
This has been further enhanced through the introduction of our CapeSafe campaign, which
promotes best working practices in everything we do.
By coordinating our safety training under the dedicated ‘CapeSafe’ brand, we aim to ensure
that all our people in 28 countries are working to the same set of international standards.
CapeSafe is based around eight “Golden Rules” that are designed both to protect the health
and safety of our employees and the communities where we work. The CapeSafe campaign
in also promotes the message of “work safe, home safe”, which reinforces our shared
commitment to sending everyone who works here home safely at the end of every working day.
Cape complies with the highest safety standards
Our operations are accredited to internationally recognised management standards by SGS
(UK) Ltd. Cape is currently accredited to the Quality Management Standard, ISO 9001:2008
