WELCOME LETTER
Dear Companies,
I would like to extend to all of you a warm welcome to the Offshore
Technology Conference (OTC) 2019 and its host city, Houston.
This year the Italian Pavilion will present a selection of 15 Italian
companies leaders in the oil & gas sector, and one training &
research Institute. Collectively, they will exhibit a wide range of
advanced technologies, products and services, able to meet the
highest customers’ requirements, even tailor-made.
The Italian Pavilion is a unique opportunity to discover the state of
the art of Italian technology in the oil & gas sector. In 2018 Italy
exported almost 12.63 billion USD worth of industrial machinery in
the US, a rise of 12.5% compared to 2017.
In 2018 Italy ranked 11th among suppliers of mechanical components
and fittings for the US.
According to Anima Confindustria Meccanica data, the macro
sector “machines and plants for the production of energy and for
the chemical and oil industry - assembly of industrial plants" in 2018
recorded an increase in production compared to 2017 (+ 1,8%), as
well as exports (+ 1,9% ) and investments (+ 6,6%) and the potential
trend could be confirmed this year.
The oil & gas Italian sector is vibrant and eager to establish new
relationships around the world. Our task, at the Italian Trade
Agency, is to facilitate these connections. OTC 2019 is a wonderful
opportunity to make these connections happen.
