ATHLETE GUIDE - AQUATHLON - Windrush Triathlon Club
Welcome to the 10th edition of the Windrush Aquathlon

After a very difficult and trying year for everyone I am thrilled to welcome you all back to racing having had the event
postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic last year.

This fantastic community event continues to welcome athletes of all abilities to our little corner of London. We have some
great sponsors that make this event possible and hope you enjoy the prizes and goodies on offer. Understandably events
will be a little different with added protocols in place to mitigate against the risk of infection from Covid -19. Please read
this information booklet carefully as there will be no event briefing on the day and follow all the guidelines in place to
ensure everyone can participate safely.

We know many of you will be competing for the first time in over a year and may be feeling a little apprehensive about the
challenge ahead. We have been working very hard with the British Triathlon Federation and Lambeth Council to bring you
a high-quality event that is above all safe, adhering to all COVID-19 guideline as set out by both the Government and BTF.

Windrush Triathlon Club and the organising committee wish you the best of luck and hope you enjoy the day.

Kind regards,

Adam Reed, Race Director

TRANSITION
Transition is where you will leave your trainers, towel and anything else you will need for the run (and your wetsuit after the swim if you are using one). Any time
spent in transition during the race will be included in your final race time.
You will need your race number to gain access to transition before and after the event.
Familiarise yourself with the entrance / exit points of transition. You must take the route marked around the edge of transition to ensure the distance is the
same for everyone.
The best clothes to wear for the event are ones that are tight fitting for the swim and that you can then run in. If you prefer you can put on a t-shirt and shorts
over a swimming costume in transition.
Marshals will be watching over transition at all times, but any belongings are left at your own risk.
