Go Langkawi 6hr Endurance Race
6 Hour Endurance Race – 14th– 15th November 2020
Regulations
1. Overview of Event
The Go Langkawi 6hr Endurance Race 2020 is an international ranking race event that is
held at Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi, organized under CIK-FIA Leisure Karting
Guidelines and sanctioned by the Motorsports Association of Malaysia.
All teams participating in the Go Langkawi 6hr Endurance Race 2020 automatically gain a
worldwide ranking on the Sodi World Series platform. This race is the start of Morac
Adventure Park’s endurance race series. This event is a private event run on a commercial
‘arrive and drive’ basis and open to entry by individuals and corporate groups using leisure
karts supplied by the Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi.
2. Description of Event
This is a 6 (Six) Hours Endurance race comprising of driving day time driving over a period
of 2 days. Each team shall consist of 3 (three) to 6 (six) drivers. The price per team includes
the usage of the in-house SODI SR4 karts, a full tank of fuel for the practice and competition,
2 brand new sets of tires to be used throughout the competition. All damages will be charged
based upon the damage chart stated in Clause 22.
The consumption of alcohol and any psychotropic substance is STRICTLY PROHIBITED
during the event. Any driver or team member found consuming alcohol or illegal drugs and
within the competition area will be removed from the circuit and the team excluded from the
event.
2.1 Driver Regulations
All drivers have to be above 150 cm in height. All drivers below the age of 18 years have to
get a signed waiver certificate by a parent or guardian to be allowed to compete. All drivers
with medical conditions have to inform the track doctor prior to starting the race. After an
examination, it is on sole discretion of the doctor to give the driver an approval to race. No
compensation or monetary reimbursement will be given to the registered participant if
deemed unfit to drive.
All drivers must be in possession of a current MAM competition licence valid for the event.
One event licences can be applied for at the track on Saturday 14th November subject to a
fee payable to the MAM. All MAM fees are payable directly to the MAM staff on duty and are
separate from the entry fees which are payable to Morac Adventure Park.

4. Status of Event
This is a leisure karting event, and is sanctioned by the MAM (Motorsports Association of
Malaysia).

6.1 Entry Confirmation
Entries will only be valid after:
(a) The official entry and indemnity forms with all the drivers’ details are submitted
to Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi fully completed.
(b) All drivers MUST fill in and sign the indemnity and the entry forms individually.
(c) A down payment of 50% has to be paid to Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi,
on a first come first served basis. Until this down payment is received, the team
entry is not confirmed. If the 100% payment is not received before the event,
the entry will be rejected.
(d) The 50% balance of the entry fee is to be paid at least five days prior to the
race event entered.
(e) The maximum number of starters for this event shall be 20 and the first 20 fully
paid up entries will be considered firm. All other subsequent entries will be
placed on the “wait list” in order of full payment and will be offered any free slots
if available. The final decision on the acceptance of entries will be with Morac
Adventure Park and their decision shall be final. Entries not accepted will be
refunded the entry fees in full.
6.2 Entry Fees
6-hours Endurance Race - RM 4,000.00 per team
Entry fee includes the following:
(a) Sodi leisure kart fully equipped with engine, with a full tank of fuel and new tires
(b) Practice – 1 new set of tires (4 pcs)
(c) Qualifying – Use the tires from the Practice session

(e) Fuel for the duration of the event
6.3 Entry Cancellation
Should an entry be cancelled prior to three weeks in advance of the event then a full
refund of the entry fee submitted will be made, less an administration fee of RM 1,000/-
In case of any cancellation of entry within three weeks of the event, the penalty shall
be RM 2,000 which will be deducted from the entry fee. Should, for whatever reason,
Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi is forced to cancel an event then the event will be
rescheduled and all entries received for it will be automatically transferred to the
rescheduled event.

9. Safety Equipment
Any form of motor racing is dangerous and as a minimum the following safety equipment must
be worn by all competitors. It will be sole right of the Organizers to determine whether any
equipment used by a driver is safe and the driver is obligated to comply with any request to
change. Refusal to do so will mean exclusion from the event.
(a) Clothing of heavy material that fully covers the arms and legs.
(b) Gloves that fully enclose all fingers are recommended.
(c) A helmet that is accepted to be used on public roads.

(e) Closed Shoes are compulsory. Slippers, sandals or half covered slip ons are
prohibited.
10. Kart Damage or Failure
In case of an incident or mechanical failure on the track the driver must make his/her way
safely to the pits with the kart where the Morac Technical crew will endeavor to rectify the
problem to the best of their ability. If, however the problem cannot be rectified the driver will
have to withdraw from the race. There will be no replacement of kart or any major
components. There will be no recovery of any karts broken down on the track during the race.
Note: Drivers are not permitted to push a kart back to the repair area and are not permitted to
carry parts to the disabled kart on the circuit to affect repairs. No compensation in time, laps
or race fees will be given to teams who experience mechanical failure.
11. Refueling
All karts will be refueled by the Organizer prior to the start of the qualifying and final race.
During the race there will be 1 (one) FUEL STOP. The refueling stop is MINIMUM 1 MINUTE.
The teams shall determine when they wish to carry out the fuel stop and inform the Chief Pit
Marshal who will inform the team when a slot is available. All fuel tanks will be filled to the
same capacity at the start of the race. Each team will be assigned 7 liter cans for refueling.
During the time of refuelling, the driver has to vacate the Kart.
12. Pit Lane Behavior
Drivers coming into the Pit Lane for a driver change, tire change or fuel stop shall do it
without causing any incident. As there are a limited number of pits for pit stops, it shall be the
responsibility of the Team Manager to ensure that there is an empty pit available when coming
in. If all pits are occupied the incoming kart must queue at the end of the pit lane and wait until
a pit is available. At all times karts coming in for a driver change or pit work must park fully in
a bay on the left side of the pit lane and the right lane is to be kept clear for karts exiting or
coming in for a fuel or tyre stop.
Karts leaving their pits after a pit stop must ensure that they are not exiting in a dangerous
manner or impeding a kart already on the right lane. Note that a kart not parked fully in a bay
(i.e. with part of the kart outside the line) will be considered as creating an obstruction. Any
obstruction to another kart whether deliberate or not will entail a severe penalty imposed by
the Clerk of the Course.
13. Teams & Drivers
(a) Two (2) categories Class 1 and Class 2

This is mainly for the experienced drivers. However, a less experienced team can opt
to compete in this category if they choose to do so.
Class 2 is a RESTRICTED CLASS
This class is meant for drivers who are new to motor sports and are being issued a
competition licence for the first time in this event. his category will be strictly
monitored and if any driver/team competing in this category is found to be in breach
of the license rule, the whole team will be DISQUALIFIED from the race.
All drivers in this class must sign a declaration that they have NEVER previously been
issued a competition license for any form of motor sports, two or four wheels. If the
breach is discovered before the event the team may replace the driver without penalty
but if it is discovered during or after the event, it will mean disqualification of the team
from the event.
(b) Every Team must take part in the Official Practice.
14. Driver Stint Limitations & Pit Stops
(a) Maximum Driver Stint Time:
Driving stints will be limited to 30 minutes as the Maximum Driver Stint Time. Total
driving time per driver shall not exceed 40% of the total duration of the race. A driver
CAN NOT take back to back stints.
(b) Pit Stops:
Drivers may come into the Pits at any time with no limit on the number of stops. The
team manager has to manage the team pit stop strategy throughout the race.
(c) Time Keeper:
The official time keeper will keep a record of when the drivers sign in and out. The
team manager has to ensure the drivers sign the team’s official Log in/ Log out sheet
at the right time to avoid any penalties.
(d) Driver Change:
All the driver changes will be done in the pit lane. ONLY 2 PEOPLE (replacement
driver plus one person) per team will be limited to be around the team’s pit box at the
driver change time. ONLY 1 PERSON will be allowed to go to the pit wall to give
signals, and only when the kart is passing.
(e) Tire Change:
All the tire changes will be done in the Tire Change Bay IN the Pit Lane. ONLY THE
DRIVER will be permitted to be around the tire change bay during the tire change time.
Tire changes will be carried out only by Morac Adventure Park crew and competing
team members are not to get involved in the process. Tire change pit stop time will be
1 minute. During the time of tire change, the driver has to vacate the Kart.

All karts driving between the Pit Entry and Pit Exit cones, must do so at walking speed.
Karts traveling above walking speed will be penalized.
15. Start Procedure
The start of the race will be a Le Mans start. All teams are to adhere to the following race start
procedure:
(i) When all karts in formation, all kart engines will be started by Morac Adventure
Park Pit Crew. Each Team to assign a spare driver to hold the kart during the start.
He/she is NOT permitted to assist by pushing the kart at the start.
(ii) Karts will be lined up in a row on the track in front of the pit wall at an angle and the
drivers starting the race will stand on the opposite of the track facing their karts.
(iii) On the waving of the “Start Flag” the drivers will run to their karts and start the race by
being mindful of not causing any unwanted incident.
(iv) No contact/bumping will be allowed at any time during the start and “jockeying” or
bumping for position and will incur a penalty for “Dangerous Driving”.
16. Finish
At the end of 6 (six) hours which will be shown on the track display, the Chequered Flag will
be waved to the race leader as he/she crosses the Finish Line. To be classified as a Finisher,
a kart must cross the Finish Line under its own power with the driver seated in the normal
driving position, not more than three minutes after the fall of the Chequered Flag. As soon as
the Chequered Flag has been shown to a driver at the end of the race, he/she must proceed
directly, using only the authorised route, to the Parc Ferme.
17. Flags
The following flag signals will be used and will be strictly enforced.
(a) Stationary Yellow flag:
A stationary yellow flag will be before an incident and any driver not slowing for a
yellow flag or overtaking under a yellow flag will receive a penalty for causing
unnecessary danger to others. A Green flag will be shown at the next post after the
incident.
(b) Waved Yellow:
In case of any incident on the track where a kart is stationary and / or the track is
blocked with debris or fluids, a waved yellow flag will be displayed before the incident.
All karts must reduce speed dramatically and overtaking will not be allowed. Not
reducing speed under these conditions will incur a severe penalty. Causing an
accident while there is a waved yellow flag will entail instant disqualification. Racing
speeds can only resume when the Green flag is displayed after the incident. Pit Entry
will remain open when Yellow flags are shown.
(c) Rain Procedures:
In the event of rain, the Clerk of the Course will decide that on whether the race to
continue or to be Red flagged.

This is to indicate that the race has been SUSPENDED and all racing must stop. Once
the Red Flag is displayed all karts shall proceed at walking pace to the pit lane, lining
up behind one another in a single file on the right-hand side of the pit lane. In some
cases, where there might be an incident, flood or obstruction on the main straight or
corners leading onto the main straight, drivers must obey the instructions of the
officials and stop where directed. Once stopped, Drivers shall leave the ballast weight
in the kart, remove their DRIVER ID badge and place it in the kart seat. The drivers
may then return to the pits and await instructions. NOBODY, except race officials, are
allowed on the track or near the karts. Once the incident or rain conditions have been
cleared/eased, the karts will be arranged in single file in order
as per official timing count back of 1 lap prior to the Red Flag being shown. A
countdown to resume the race will be announced and racing will start again only
when the Green flag is shown to the leading kart after at least one formation lap with
all karts running in a single file
(e) Black and White Double Diagonal
It warns the driver of unsportsmanlike conduct. Flag is used only once per
competitor per race. and will be shown with the kart number on a signaling board.
Repeated offence will result in the Black Flag being shown.
(f) Black Flag:
Shown motionless with a signaling board bearing a kart number at the Start / Finish
line, on instructions from the Clerk of the Course. It instructs the driver to stop at the
pits on the next lap and report immediately to the Clerk of the Course. This flag usually
follows the Diagonal Black and White flag for a repeat offence. It usually means
disqualification from the race.
(g) Chequered Flag:
End of Race. Slow down and return to the Pits.
18. Driver Behaviour
The team manager will be responsible for the behaviour of all his/her team, including
drivers and any other associated personnel. At all times he / she will be the person spoken
to by the officials of the meet either with or without the presence of the driver. Should there
be a breach of the safety rules or any unsporting behaviour on the race track, in the pits or
in the paddock at any time, the team concerned will be penalized at the absolute discretion
of the organizers. The penalties at the organizers disposal will include time penalties and
the suspension of the right of individual drivers or even complete teams to participate in the
event or the right to participate in any other events promoted by the organizers in the future.
Participants are reminded that by the very nature of this event, there will be speed
differentials on the track and that patience and respect for their fellow competitors will be
required. This is an endurance event and short-term advantage is therefore of limited
benefit.

All drivers will be weighed at the beginning of the event with racing gear, this
includes the racing suit, boots and helmet. If a driver does not report for weigh in, he will not
be permitted to drive.
20. Kart Ballast
The minimum weight per driver for this race is 70kgs
(i) 3 Driver Team
Gross minimum weight for all 3 drivers - 210 kg.
Ballast for every 10 kg short will be 2.5 kg.
(ii) 4 Driver Team
Gross minimum weight for all 4 drivers - 280 kg.
Ballast for every 10 kg short will be 2.5 kg.
(iii) 5 Driver Team
Gross minimum weight for all 5 drivers - 350 kg.
Ballast for every 10 kg short will be 2.5 kg.
(iv) 6 Driver Team
Gross minimum weight for all 6 drivers - 420 kg.
Ballast for every 10 kg short will be 2.5 kg.
The ballast weight will be placed in the assigned karts and will remain there until the end of
the event.
21. Prizes
At the end of the event and when the final results are announced prizes will be
distributed to the teams as follows:

24. Organizers Rights
In order to continuously improve the organization of the SWS; SODIKART and Morac
Adventure Park, Langkawi reserves the right to change without notice these SWS & MORAC
ADVENTURE PARK REGULATIONS at any time. The corrected or amended Regulations will
then be immediately posted on the SWS AND Morac Adventure Park websites and social
channels and it is the responsibility of competitors to keep in touch with any changes.
25. Indemnity
A separate form is to be signed by all the driver in every team.
Motor sports is dangerous. and despite the organizers taking all reasonable precautions and
ensuring that there are adequate safety and medical facilities, Motorsports Association of
Malaysia, Morac Adventure Park, Amprex Langkawi Circuit Sdn Bhd, and SODIKART will not
be held responsible for material or bodily harm that may be suffered by any drivers or their
accompanying persons as part of their participation in Morac Adventure Park SWS 2020 race
events held at Morac Adventure Park, Langkawi. Participants in SWS recognize and accept
the risks associated with the practice of physical activity during racing and undertake to
indemnify Motorsports Association of Malaysia, Morac Adventure Park, and SODIKART
against all claims or costs arising out of or participating at any event organized by Morac
Adventure Park, Amprex Langkawi Circuit Sdn Bhd and SODIKART.
All participants are required to sign indemnities accepting the inherent risks prior to their taking
part in an event. By doing so they are signing an undertaking that they are not suffering from
any medical condition, either permanent or temporary, which could affect prejudicially their
normal control of the vehicle with regard to the speeds likely to be attained during the event.
The pit garages and pit lane are strictly non-smoking areas. No person under the age of 18
years old will be allowed beyond the yellow line that marks the limit of the pit garages.

in the race suit. Long hair trailing from bottom of the helmet will not be acceptable on the
grounds of safety.
