Agenda for This Evening
• Introduce the BASH Performing Arts Tour 2021
• Provide overview of the itinerary and major experiences on the tour
• Introduce Payment information and fundraising opportunities
• Communication about trip preparation and future meetings
• Wrap up in one hour!

The Major Details

• Who: Any 2020-21 10th, 11th, or 12th grade BASH Music Department
  Student (Band, Orchestra, Choir, Color Guard, Stage Crew)
   • Current 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students will travel in 2024
• What: A Performing Tour of France and the UK
   • Paris, London, and the surrounding towns and villages
• When: March 25 to April 5, 2021. This tour is aligned with Spring
  break, and students will only miss 3 days of school, potentially less.

   • Can you name previous tour locations?
• A once in a lifetime opportunity for students to perform in culturally
  significant venues in France and the UK
• Opportunity to experience a new culture

     Northern Ireland

• Students depart on overnight flights from Philadelphia & Newark to
  Paris, France

Friday, March 26
• Arrive in Paris
• Meet tour managers and motor coaches
• Transfer to the hotel for check in
• Dinner in hotel

           Eiffel Tower, Paris

Saturday, March 27
• Guided Sightseeing tour of Paris
   • Eiffel Tour, The Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Arch de Triomphe, Champs
     Elysees, and more
• Performances
   • Orch. & Choir in the American Church

Sunday, March 28

     • Palm Sunday performance for
       Choir in Eglise de la Sainte
       Trinite
     • Boat Ride on the River Seine

     • Full Day to enjoy Disneyland Paris

Tuesday, March 30
• Depart by motor coach for Calais
• Ferry from Calais, France to Dover, England

But What About Brexit!?
• Brexit – The UK voted in 2016 to leave the European Union (EU)
   • EU is a group of 28 countries that allows free trade and movement of people
     between countries (for example: France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, etc.)
• 52% to 48% voted “Leave” on June 23, 2016
• Negotiations over an exit deal have continued to this day. Oct. 31 is
  supposed to be the hard date for Brexit
