We are pleased that you have decided to attend the Idaho State University Bengal Bridge Summer Program. The
seven-week program begins June 14th, and ends July 30th 2021. The following information will help you understand
the guidelines and consequences that govern our summer program. Please review this information and keep it for
future reference.

Residence Hall Guidelines
    1. No members of the opposite gender in your dorm room or designated male/female floors after 9:30
pm – NO EXCEPTIONS! Students may socialize in the lounges available on the 1st floor. Any
students who violate this rule or who know about a violation, and do not report it will be held
accountable and will be held accountable and will be required to meet with the Bengal Bridge Director.
    2. Room assignments cannot be traded without permission of the staff. Please notify Bengal Bridge
staff if you are having problems with your roommates early on so that mediation can take place. Only
under emergency situations will room changes be made.
    3. Room Inspections – Idaho State University respects the student’s right to privacy; however, Bengal
Bridge staff reserves the right to enter a student’s room, or inspect belongings at any time for health,
safety, and student’s welfare or maintenance purposes. Advance notice will be given when possible.
    4. Stolen Property - ISU and Bengal Bridge will not be responsible for student property which is lost,
stolen, or damaged. Take care of your own personal property. Secure all your valuables when you
leave your room and know that you are responsible for them, no one else! Please lock your door, even
when just going to the restroom.
    5. Housekeeping – Hall staff will occasionally inspect rooms to assure cleanliness. Bengal Bridge
students are expected to keep their rooms and bathrooms clean, and to set a good example for all
             students.
    6. Residence Hall Policies - Absolutely no alcohol, drugs, candles, incense, open-faced grills, pets, etc.
Possession of these items will result in dismissal from the Bengal Bridge Summer Program.
    7. Adhere to all Residence Life Policies at Idaho State University. Housing Policies can be located at
             http://www2.isu.edu/housing/manual.shtml

Cafeteria Guidelines
    1. Shoes and shirt must be worn in the dining hall.
    2. Students must be on time for meals.
    3. Any change in scheduled times for meals will be posted.
    4. Please be courteous. Many groups visiting the ISU campus share this facility. Idaho State University is
allowing us to eat in their facilities and may ask us to leave at any time based on bad behavior such as
swearing, leaving food and garbage behind, and overall rowdy behavior within the cafeteria. If your
behavior is consistently disruptive within the cafeteria, you will be dismissed from the summer
             program.

Classroom Guidelines
    1. Classroom Management Policy – Students are expected to be attentive, courteous, and cooperative
during all classes. The Bengal Bridge Summer Instructors have complete authority in their classroom.

If students do not agree with decisions, they may address their concerns to the Bengal Bridge Director
             for review.
    2. Academic Policy – Students are expected to complete all assignments and participate in class and other
program activities. Students who do not participate fully will receive a consequence from their
teacher, which will be reported to the Bengal Bridge Coordinator.
    3. Academic Dishonesty – Cheating or plagiarism in any form is unacceptable. All work submitted by a
student must represent his/her own ideas, concepts, and current understanding. The list of possible
offenses is not exhaustive but here are a few examples: a.) copying from another exam paper before,
after or during the exam, b.) using notes or retrieving notes from a computer, c.) having someone else
take your test, etc. The Bengal Bridge instructor is responsible for handling each case of dishonesty in
the classroom unless it is a repeat offense, in which case, the offense will be referred to the Bengal
             Bridge Director.
    4. Absence Policy – Students are expected to attend the full seven weeks of Bengal Bridge Summer
Program. If you cannot attend a portion of summer school due to an emergency and/or unavoidable
conflict, you and your parent/guardian must contact the Bengal Bridge Director. Unexcused absences
result in significant grade deductions and, potentially, failure of the course(s)
    5. Class Schedules - Students are assigned to classes according to academic need, interest and
availability of a specific course. Students may not change Bengal Bridge summer courses. Students
who add/drop their own courses are responsible financially for any changes in fees/tuition. Class
selection will be completed for a student base on the information provided. All students are required to
             enroll in ACAD 1104.

General Behavioral Guidelines
   1. Guest Policy – Due to time and financial restrictions, guests and visitors will not be allowed. Family
members, including parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. are welcome to visit, but must make
arrangements by calling our office at (208) 282-3662. No guest(s) are allowed to stay overnight with
             students living in the halls.
    2. Alcohol and Drug Policy - The possession and/or use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, unauthorized
prescription drugs, illegal drugs, vaping/cigarettes or other controlled substances are prohibited. Each
incident will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but expulsion from summer program is a possibility.
The parent/guardian will be notified immediately if the student is under 18 years of age.
    3. Dangerous Possessions - Firecrackers, gunpowder and/or other forms of explosives, guns, knives, etc.
are prohibited. Each incident will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but expulsion from summer
program is a possibility. The parent/guardian will be notified immediately if the student is under 18
             years of age.
    4. Harassment – Conduct towards another person or identifiable group of persons including, but not
limited to, unwelcome comments or other conduct that unreasonably interferes with an individual’s
work or academic performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment for that
individual’s work, education, or participation in an Bengal Bridge activity is prohibited. Retaliation
against any person filing a judicial complaint or against any person cooperating as a witness will be
             considered harassment.
    5. Sexual Harassment and/or Sexual Assault – Any actions or statements of a sexual harassing or
embarrassing manner along with implied or stated threats are prohibited. This policy includes
unwanted touching or comments, retaliation, or threats of violence. Students are expected to be
responsive to requests from staff, teachers, residential mentors, assistant directors, project director or
other students regarding behavior which is inconsistent with respect for the rights of others. Respect
each other by the way you speak (no vulgarity, profanity, gossip), act (no hitting, and no public
displays of affection, pushing, obscene gestures), and dress (no revealing clothing, clothing
             inappropriate for the situation).
    6. Adhere to all student policies under the student handbook which is located at
             https://www.isu.edu/media/libraries/student-affairs/Student-Handbook-1.pdf
