What to Expect...
Whether you are a regular competitor or a happy hacker, our
expert coaches will tailor sessions to meet your needs. You will be
in groups determined by the experience and confidence levels of
both horse and rider. You can tell us about yourself and your
horse at the time of booking, so please provide as much
information as possible.
Riders will experience 4 hours of coached ridden sessions during
the camp, delivered by our BHS Accredited Professional Coaches
in both flatwork and jumping. Please note ‘jumping’ is not a
requirement to attend this camp, the emphasis of these sessions
will be on the other elements of riding a show jumping course not
the jump itself. Our industry experts will deliver thought provoking
talks and fun fitness practical sessions to get you fine tuning your
technique, with your horse’s health and happiness at the centre of
your own improvement.
Topping off the camp will be the opportunity to compete in a no
pressure Dressage test and Show Jumping Clear Round (you
decide the level of each) with rosettes for all competitors. Followed
by an exclusive opportunity to pick up the pace or cool off on
Aintree’s all weather gallops! Your horse will enjoy the luxury of
Aintree’s race yard stables whilst you rest your head in the Jockeys
Accommodation with a comfy bed at the end of the day or, if you
prefer, the comfort of your own lorry (hook up & Accommodation
spaces are limited).
The emphasis of camp is to improve knowledge and skill; after
working hard you will enjoy, great food, fantastic facilities and
overall fun and enjoyment!
This training camp will run from 4pm on Sunday to 6pm on
Tuesday. There is already keen interest and as numbers are strictly
limited, early booking is strongly advised.

Meet our Experts...

Equine Desensitisation with Lindsay Gaven
National Mounted Police Advanced Instructor and Assessor and
BHS Stage 4 Senior Coach

This session will lead you through important questions such as where does your training start
and look to at how to achieve the mythical ‘bomb proof horse’.

“I work with various types of horses everyday in my profession as a mounted police trainer
and also as a BHS freelance coach, there is no such thing as a bomb proof horse, but there
is a horse which is well trained, and you know well. There will always be something your
horse doesn’t like but if you train your horse well and consistently, they will answer any
question you ask.”

Every situation is a training opportunity, this session will start you on your road to training
your horse consistently and clearly to maximise positive behavior in any situation.
