Bring Your Own Device Parent handbook - Second Edition: Nov. 2017 - Carlingford West Public ...
Our school provides students access to devices to develop their
skills as 21st Century learners in a safe and secure environ-
ment.

Our aim is to:

* actively engage students as learners

* allow students to create content rather than simply be consum-
  ers of knowledge

* critically analyse information they find

* create innovative solutions to real world problems

* connect with learning outside the classroom

* create reflective and resilient learners

* and develop a curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

By providing students with a comprehensive ICT program in
their early schooling, we hope to establish a firm foundation for
all our students to be successful as a global citizen and be pre-
pared to face the challenges of our ever changing digital and
connected world.

About Zulu Desk App:
In 2018, Carlingford West Public School are offering parents
and carers on year 3-6 students the opportunity to have greater
control over their child’s iPad usage out of school hours.

The Zulu Desk Parent App allows parents and carers to man-
age their child’s iPad usage while at home. Using the app on
your own device, parents are able to wirelessly block access to
particular apps, websites and social media for set periods of
time. Parents are also able to lock their child into particular
Apps to help them to stay on task, plus much more.

Access to this app costs is included in leasing fees and costs
$9 for BYOD devices.

A parent workshop on setting up and using this app will be run
early in 2018 once iPads are distributed. For further information
about this session, please check the school app in the new
year.
