Where are they now?
Ruth Potterton, DULHC President
Having enjoyed being a part of DULHC, our alumni inevitably come to seize
new challenges. Some stay in Ireland, whilst others scatter the globe. Here
we touch base with a selection of our alumni who have remained active in
sport as we wonder “where are they now?”.
                                                                                Danielle Costigan and Rebecca Coll
Honoured at last year’s Alumni Ball, Mandy Hollwey continues to take for Alex against Pembroke
hockey in St. Andrew’s School and retains strong links with Trinity. Last
year her 1st XI girls won the Kate Russell All Ireland Hockey Trophy. Mandy
continues to promote the sport at the schools level and has seen some
fantastic young players pass through her ranks. It is the hope that some of
these girls will find their way to Trinity to play hockey.

I am sure many of you remember Siobhan Royce. Earlier this year she
completed the Desert Marathon in aid of cancer. Undoubtedly her training
with Trinity helped in this extreme endurance event.

Hazel Agar is still playing and captains Old Alexandra 2nd XI who are
currently experiencing great successes in the League. The same team won
the Division 2 league last season and were Irish Junior Cup finalists. Also
involved in Old Alexandra are Rachel Griffith and Rebecca Coll, who both Fiodhna Burke lines out for Monkstown

Alexandra 1st XI forward line last season is currently working as a physician
in the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth but hopes to return to Irish
hockey next year. Meanwhile, Aisling Barry has returned to Galway where
she is playing with Galway HC after a spell playing for Old Alexandra on the
2nd XI, while new mum Anya Bowers holds the fort with the same team.

New ladies’ club Monkstown has also seen a strong influx of Trinity alumni.
Helen Taaffe currently holds the position of Club Captain while Fiodhna
Burke captains the hugely successful 1st XI as they establish themselves in
Leinster hockey. Clare Hearnden is also playing with Monkstown, while
Ashley Warren and Alice Delahunt have recently retired from the squad, Danielle Costigan and Linda Caulfield
making the move to London. show down Jacqui Potter Cup Final

Cecelia and Isobel Joyce continue to play with Railway Union 1st XI who
last season won the Leinster Senior League. Furthermore, Trinity alumni
Nicola Cox, Fiona Byrne, Jenny McEvoy and Jane Ryan have all been
seen out and about playing on the Vets circuit.
