6World Humanitarian Day 19th of August every year is dedicated to “The World’s Humanitarian Day” by U.N; on that day 9th IGCSE, MYP and DP 1 students put together an amazing and moving play to honour and respect the day. The themes of War, Communalism, Ecological disaster and poverty was well crafted and enacted by the students. The play was inoffensive in manner and yet drew the audience’s attention to central point. The wonderful speech given at the end by students of the play was very meaningful. The students also displayed a video of how war affects daily life and is only destructive in nature. “We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” - Ronald Reagan In its entirety, the assembly motivated and enlightened the students to choose the right path. Guest Speaker Col. Rohit Tewari’s The guest of honour Col. Rohit Tewari’s didactic speech helped our students understand how the army works. What are the measure we must take to avoid war. Col. Tewari engaged all the students in a dialogue. He probed students of all age groups. He posed question to elicit the right answers. He spoke about the cause and effect of war and what the word Humanitarianism means. He, also encouraged us to truly educate ourselves and contribute to the entire Humanitarian cause.
