Sella Park is the perfect place to celebrate the New Year with great wine and food,
with friends and loved ones. We make no apologies – there will be no disco or wild
parties. We aim to offer a quality, relaxed New Year’s Eve dinner and if you make it
to midnight we will of course, give you a glass of Champagne to toast 2014.

Take the stress out of the Christmas period and join us for a luxury three night
Christmas Break.
Christmas Eve
Arrive at the Pennington Hotel and enjoy a rich and warming cup
of hot chocolate with a tot of rum if you wish, accompanied by
home-made shortbread. At 7.30pm a delicious four course dinner
will be served in the Restaurant.
If you wish you can attend midnight-mass at St. Michael’s church at Muncaster Castle
and return to the hotel and enjoy a festive glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
Christmas Day
A light breakfast with Buck’s Fizz will be served between 9.00am and 10.30am. At
1.00pm our sumptuous five course luncheon will be served in the restaurant.
Following lunch the Queen’s Speech will be broadcast in the Morning Room and a
selection of board games will be available in the bar if you wish to participate.
A buffet will be available throughout the evening for those with room to spare!
Boxing Day
Following a leisurely full Cumbrian breakfast between and 8.00am
and 10.00am in the restaurant, you can explore the surrounding
countryside or we can provide you with tickets to view the
amazing gardens at the nearby Muncaster Castle. Or you can relax
and enjoy the peace and quiet of Ravenglass and let us look after
you, leaving yourself time to prepare for a delightful four course dinner and a
wonderful final evening with new friends and family.
27th December – A Fond Farewell
As your traditional Christmas break comes to a close, enjoy a full Cumbrian breakfast
and take time to prepare for your journey home. Later over morning coffee there
will be a chance to say “goodbye” to new friends made during your stay or take
advantage of our fantastic offers and stay with us a little longer…
We have several rooms that are dog-friendly – so you won’t need to leave that
extra family member at home – please book early as these rooms are in demand –
only £10.00 per dog per stay.

Why not celebrate Christmas 2013 with Christmas at Muncaster Castle, decorated
for this most magical time of year.
Enjoy a delicious 3 course Christmas Meal in the Old Laundry Function room then
visit the Castle in the afternoon for the special rate of £16 per person!
Enhance your visit to the Castle for only £4.50 per person extra by upgrading to a
Victorian Tour. Servants in period costume will guide you, allowing a glimpse of
“below stairs” areas not normally open to the public.
Your group will then partake of a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie at Lord
Muncaster’s grand dining table, enjoying gossip and some Christmas entertain-
ments.
If your group can stay until after dusk (approx 4.30pm), you can also enjoy the
Darkest Muncaster Garden Illuminations, with a seasonal themed sound and light
show on and around the Castle.
These special rates are for visits to Muncaster from 30th November 2013 until 20th
December 2013. (Minimum group numbers of 15 or price per person rises accord-

21st-23rd December & 27th & 28th December 2013
Experience the magic of this beautiful, ancient Castle elegantly decorated for
Christmas. Enjoy the gardens and the stable yard offering festive food and drink.
Take a “Victorian below stairs” tour with Muncaster’s servants in period costume
from 1885 and see parts of the Castle not usually seen. Lots of fun for all the family
with husky sled dogs, walkabout entertainment and live festive music.
As darkness falls enjoy the Darkest Muncaster Illuminations, with a themed sound
and light show on the Castle as they transform the gardens to a winter wonderland.
The Cafe and Gift shop will be open until late. A truly magical experience!
