WORLD CLASS FACILITIES Every week day is based at the £200 Million state-of-the-art City Football Academy, a fantastic venue shared by Manchester City’s First team, Women’s team and Academy teams alike. Exclusive access to areas used on a daily basis by the Club’s players, such as Academy pitches, the Media Centre, and an incredible full-sized indoor training pitch.

GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION Venue: City Football Academy, Etihad Campus, Manchester M11 4TQ Capacity: Maximum 150 players per programme Age: 9-17 Gender: Boys and girls Start dates: 26 June; 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 July; 7, 14 August (7 Aug is last 2-week start date) Arrival day: Sunday Duration: 1 or 2 weeks Staff : Player ratio: 12:1 classes; 16:1 coaching sessions; 10:1 residence
THE PROGRAMME Football & language activities are fully integrated and designed to maintain a high level of consistency from one session to the next. This will enable you to put your communication skills immediately into practice on the pitch, and your technical and tactical understanding from playing the game into your off-field learning. Developing your skills both as an individual and as a team is our priority. The range of interactive activities, as well as the high level of support you receive from your coaching and teaching team, help you progress to your highest potential in a variety of authentic football contexts.

DEVELOP YOUR ENGLISH SKILLS
- Undertake interactive studies around the
importance of nutrition, hydration and how players
fuel their bodies to play to the best of their abilities
- Learn how to accurately analyse tactical situations
and systems of play in match analysis workshops
- Experience what it’s like to be in the spotlight with a
media training session, practising presentation skills
and tactful use of language in interviews and press
conference situations
- Develop a greater understanding of cultural
differences and diversity in football, learning
effective communication in an international settingNEW GIRLS’ PROGRAMME With Manchester City’s Women’s team (MCWFC) competing at the top level of the FA Women’s Super League, this is a great opportunity for female players from all over the world to train at the same facility as City’s Women’s team, and experience the professionalism and high quality of the game. With excellent pastoral support from our friendly teams including female staff, you will also enjoy the privacy of girls-only en-suite apartments within Sheavyn House. July 24th 2016: Exclusive Girls’ programme for players aged 9-17.
A TYPICAL DAY 08.00: Board the private coach to go to Connell College 08.45: Kick the day off with a Team Talk at Connell College 09.00: Language Session 1 – Media Training Preparation 10.00: Break 10.30: Head out to the Academy pitches for football coaching session 12.00: Lunch 13.00: Players compete in game session on the indoor pitch 14.30: Break 15.00: Language Session 2 – Press Conference Role Play 16.30: Daily reflection session 17.00: Return to the residence for dinner 19.30: Relax at the residence after dinner with games night 22.00: Bed time!

- Connell College is the main base throughout
the programme. This is next to the CFA and is
where the lessons and theory sessions take
place
- The morning debrief is conducted in the hall.
All players are together to hear about the
sessions for the day
- Mid-morning, lunch and mid-afternoon snacks
are served in the college refectory
- Changing rooms and storage facilities on siteACCOMMODATION
- Situated 20 minutes away from the CFA, the
players will enjoy a comfortable stay in en-suite
single rooms at the University of Manchester’s
Sheavyn House
- WiFi is available for all players once we receive
parental consent
- Players will have their breakfast and evening
meal at the residence
- Laundry of the players’ kit is provided
