Climate Adaptation Strategy 2019-2024
The Climate Adaptation Strategy 2019-2024 was adopted on 9th September 2019.
The Strategy sets out 31 objectives for the adaptation of Galway City Council to the projected impacts
of climate change.
In order to achieve the objectives the Strategy includes 68 actions and sub actions to be implemented
by Galway City Council over the next ten years.
The Sub actions are prioritised with 49 sub actions to be delivered in the short-term, i.e. within the
next five years.
Progress Report 2020
A progress Report on the implementation of the strategy is presented in Appendix A.
Implementation Plan (Sept 2020 to Sept 2021)
This document collates 30 nr Individual Action Plans and sets out 89 separate tasks to be delivered
during the period of Sept 2020 to Sept 2021. The Individual Action Plans are presented in Appendix
B.
The breakdown of Action Plans by Department are presented below and in detail overleaf.
