Your child will need to login to their computer using the information given to them
at the beginning of each school year. Each child has their own login and password.
If you need to be reminded of this information, please email your homeroom
teacher.

Once logged in… please also have your child login to their google classroom and
COLA Jr. The google login information is the same as the computer. Cola Jr. will
have a separate login which is also given at the beginning of each year. Please
contact your homeroom teacher or any of the contacts above if you need the Cola
Jr. login information.

                                  ATTENDANCE

collected through the electronic platform daily. Students will be prompted daily
inside of google classroom to answer an attendance question. When students
answer the question, they will be counted present for the day.

If a student is absent for any reason, the homeroom teacher must be notified. If a
student is absent for 3 consecutive days without notification to the COLA staff
members, the Attendance officer will contact the parent/guardian to determine the
reason for the absence.

no damages to the keyboard, screen or computer. If there are any damages, Mrs.

to complete assignments on a tablet or phone. It is the responsibility of the parent
to maintain working equipment.

4. If there are damages to the computer, keyboard or mouse and it is not reported,
the student using the computer prior to the damage being reported will be
responsible for paying for damages. Please refer to computer acknowledgement

                                        Calhoun Online Learning Academy 2020-2021

2. Students should also complete any work given in their homeroom google
classroom daily.

3. All assignments, quizzes and exams should be turned in electronically unless
prior permission has been given by a staff member.

4. If the assignment gives you a page to download, please use this. You can type
your answers on the page online which goes to the grading cycle list to be graded.
We will need to show you how to save your PDF to type and send to us. Please ask
a COLA Jr. staff member or your homeroom teacher how to proceed if you have
this type of assignment. Assignments saved incorrectly could result in answers
being omitted and the assignment to be repeated by the student.

5. Students should not plagiarize, cheat or gain unauthorized access to material,
tamper with information, copy and paste the questions and answers, give or receive
test information, or forge signatures. Disciplinary action will be taken if cheating
occurs.

                                   BEHAVIOR

Each year the Flippen Group recognizes and celebrates schools and districts that go
the extra mile each day, building an environment where students are relationally
connected and eager to learn. As part of their recognition program, review teams
visit schools and determine if the Capturing Kids’ Hearts framework has been
implemented with fidelity and if the school improvement data supports what they
find on their visit and review.

The Flippen Group visited Calhoun Primary and Elementary Schools during the
2019-2020 school year. They interviewed students, teachers, parents,
administrators and staff and reviewed school improvement data. What they found
was an increase in student achievement and academic performance, improved

culture at Calhoun Primary and Elementary School.

Below are some of the ways that we try to capture hearts and are ideas that could
help at home as well.
