                     Safety in unity:
                     stronger together
Slowly but surely, life in our city is
marching back to normalcy – and it’s
our responsibility to ensure we take
                     the precautions that support our
                     government’s tireless efforts.

While you wear masks and practice
social distancing, we urge you to
                     remember the below guidelines.
                     1. Household staff must wear their
                        masks properly (covering their
nose and mouth) at all times in
                        the community.
                     2. Gathering of staff members from
                        different households in the
                        common areas is not permitted.
                     3. Social distancing of at least 3
metres must be adhered to at all
                        times in common areas.
                     4. Personal items like bicycles, shoes,
and strollers should not be left
                        outside the home.

To ensure a safe environment for
everyone, staff members found to be in
                     repeated violation of these guidelines
will be asked to leave the amenity.

                     EPL 2021:
                     An unforgettable
                     cricketing spectacle
The stage was set for a thrilling
                     tournament, as the 2021 Emaar
Premier League kicked off at the ICC
Academy in Dubai Sports City. The
                     nine teams, comprising almost 100
residents in addition to 45 staff and
service providers, battled it out from
15 January to 13 February through the
                     group stages and knockout rounds.

After an intense round of semi-finals,
                     defending champions ECM pulled
                     through against Green Thunders while
                     Green Gladiators emerged victorious
against Super Heroes. The two titans
set the ground ablaze during a fiery
final, as Green Gladiators batted first
and racked up a mammoth score of 183.

After a rocky start that saw ECM lose
three vital wickets, Waleed Ahmed –
the security guard – (who also won
the ‘Man of the Series’ award) and
                     Shihan Thundekar – a pool lifeguard –
stepped up to guide the team to
victory. It was a perfect game to cap
off a memorable series, in the

 What happens: What to do:

                     P-leash follow
                     this rule!
                     Your community loves pets. We
                     understand that they’re an important
member of your family. But when it
comes to walking them in the
community, we must insist on leashes.

Let’s tell you why a leash is important:

                     1. Consideration – Elderly residents,
                        young children, individuals with
                        allergies and others might be
                        intimidated by pets’ exploratory
                        behaviour.

                     2. Safety – Startled pets may suddenly
run onto roads without warning or
cross paths with cyclists, which is a
                        major safety hazard.

                     3. Health – Wandering pets might
nibble on landscaping – but a number
of plants native to the city are not
                        friendly to pets’ tummies.

                     4. It is the law – Walking a dog without
a leash is punishable with a fine of
AED 10,000. Fines can reach AED
100,000 if the pet is involved in
                        an attack.

makes coming to work every day a positive experience.”

What a typical day’s like: “I begin the day with a prayer and a
healthy meal to energise me till afternoon. After work I like
      to chat with my family.”

On his family back home: “I miss my family a lot especially since I have not been able to visit them during the last
year – but everyone is safe and I thank the Almighty for that.”

His ambitions and dreams: “The most important thing for me is securing a good future for my children – I want to
make sure that they grow up to be very successful people who don’t face any stress.”

His plans for 2021: “I hope to try and take some time off this year because I do miss my hometown a lot –

                Q. One of the electrical outlets in my unit is not
working. How do I fix it?

                 1. Check if it is connected to a wall switch that may have not been
                    turned on.

                 2. Once this is determined, inspect the circuit
breakers and reset any that may have turned off.

                 3. A blown fuse may have also disrupted power to
                    the outlet.

Do not attempt to insert any long artifacts into the
outlet – call a reliable electrician if you are unable to
                 resolve the problem.
