The Board of Governors The Board of Governors functions as a governance board, concentrating on the strategic objectives and directions of the Association, manages the Strategic Plan and sets policies, employs the General Manager and ensures the Association meets its legal and financial obligations. The Board is removed from the day to day management of the Association’s affairs which is carried out by the General Manager, paid staff and volunteers. The Chairman Speaks A s I write the 2013 Chairperson’s Report, I am over a number of years and have executed that with pleased to note a very positive feel to the hockey careful planning, dedication and hard work. Last year, the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council signed off on the decision to release funds to the Hastings District Council and the Regional Sports Park Trust to utilise for the purposes of building a tier one hockey facility at the Iain Taylor Regional Sports Park. Goodbye and Thank You I n April we said farewell to Mark Ramage who left to take a position in Scotland involving secondary school hockey. Mark had been a part of HB Hockey for 2 years and contributed to the Academy programmes and Rep Hockey. He was responsible for the development and implementation of the Excel programme.
