APRIL - JUNE 2019
CROYDON LIBRARIES

Croydon Libraries:
Inform, Involve, Inspire
Croydon Libraries have exciting events planned for all ages this
spring. Highlights below:

Families: Every day somewhere in Croydon there is a rhymetime or craft activity
going on for families, as well as special events like Elmer’s 30th birthday, 50 years of
the Very Hungry Caterpillar and Easter celebrations.

London Mozart Players on the Move in Libraries! Bring your family along during
May half term to hear the London Mozart Players perform Peter & the Wolf in Croydon
Central, Thornton Heath and New Addington Libraries.

Teenagers dealing with exam stress. We welcome hundreds of students in our
libraries every spring as they prepare for their exams. Are you feeling stressed? Please
take a break from your studies to attend our drop in support sessions provided by Off
the Record and NHS Oasis in Central Library and Thornton Heath in April and May. All
Croydon libraries have a range of “Shelf Help” books, providing 13 to 18 year olds with
expert endorsed advice and information about anxiety, stress, bullying, and exams.

Cityread London. Cityread returns in May with Sofia Khan is Not Obliged by Ayisha
Malik who is visiting Croydon on Friday 10th May 6-7pm at Ashburton Library.

Visit Thornton Heath Library to see the recently refurbished reception area and find
out about the wider range of local services available, including CSCS courses from
Croydon Works and access to Croydon Council services.

Visit our online library from your comfy chair or when out and about: browse our
latest e-Books and e-Audiobooks, access popular magazines and save money, and
read your local newspaper from our vast collection online. All free of charge.
